    Thanks @Dcdad43

Did they replace your handle? I would like to get hold of a faulty one and tear it down, to see what causes it to short out and try to come up with a permanent fix, rather than people forking out £100+ on a new handle that needs to painted as well. Might have to do some hunting on ebay!!!

Yep, replacement door handle, £250 iirc and it came colour coded for my car, mineral white.
Whatever goes wrong with them means the CAS module doesn't allow the car to start. On mine the steering lock did release so at least I could steer it as we pushed it onto the trailer!!

Intrigued even more now, I wonder if the capacitors in the handle fail, which cause the whole system to shut down. £250 for a handle , definitely going to have get one off :ebay: and tear it open.

Yes of course mate we will sort something out :)

I’ve not had a chance to get it checked out yet, mechanic has been busy so hoping he can fit me in early next week. Didn’t fancy doing it myself in the end :muttley:

    Cheers buddy.

Let us know if it was the handle or something else please. Judging by what @Dcdad43 has said, it appears that it is the handle. If your mechanic can fix the handle, please let us know what he did to fix it.

    :lolwsign:, don't blame ya!!!

I didn't have to replace my door handle if I wasn't bothered about the comfort access not working.

Having said that when I did get it fixed I turned it off anywayo_O when I coded the stop start system so the setting on the dash button was retained rather than resetting.

Wanted to keep the car right as it were in case I want to sell some time in the future, had it 5 years so far. Don't want some chancer trying to chip me a ridiculous amount because they say comfort access is a must have.:D
