Hmmm may give that a wee blast what a good idea
lol I may of finished my mound of paperwork by then
Another Ess build under way tomorrow
What's a shell replacement? Sorry, I'm not very familiar with engineering lingo.
Big end bearings, the bearings sit in the bottom of the con rod on the crank, as they start to wear it is advised to uprate them if you are going to put extra load on them by supercharging simples! !
The shells are the bottom end (sometimes called big end) bearings. These sit at the point where the piston conrod meets the crank shaft. Basically they are the first point at which all the torque from the piston linear action turns the crank into rotational power so there is a huge amount of pressure at this point. The S65 bearings (standard) are particularly weak due to the over tolerance and poor material. Thus they are prone to wear when the car has been used heavily or if you are wanting to add a bunch more power... I.e supercharging!!
Many people will change these bearings to an upgraded solution as well as replace the bolts too for a stronger solution at the same time.
Thanks for the great explanation!

Removed from a 40k car
Ah light wear there
I'll have to upload the pics of mine.... Makes those look new
Hi mate I have replied to your PM but I think I may have replied more than once as I got confused....sorry but hope the info is of use.
The latest car just finished also showing the difference of standard exhaust system and pre cats deleted
Get those cats off boys.....
would a supercharged m3 beat a nissan GTR on a quarter mile?
AAron you have pm
Gtr would win.
GTR would win I think but GTR is not as fast once it gets past 40-50 as some think.
Depends which GTR! But the facelift 540bhp one, then obviously the start would be in its favour, but the M3 would win.
Look at a stock M6 vs the GTR. GTR pulls away, then tracktion happens and the M6 pounces and leaves it behind.
M3 won't beat any gtr on a quarter mile.
I raced my supercharged E92 at vmax and all the four wheel drive cars were gone at the start, couldn't get near them. Some I overtook on the long straight though.
How do these kits react to track work?
I turbo charged a clio sport in the past and couldn't do more than 20mins without it getting too hot. Are these the same?
