Hi all, I have owned an E92 M3 in the past which I supercharged with an ESS VT600 kit, very quick !!. I have since sold the car on and I bought one of the last of the E92 M3s from new. The car is coming to the end of a three year PCP and I think I may keep it as I dont want another PCP over 4 years. To this end I have the modding bug again and am thinking of supercharging this one to around the 600 bhp mark. Looking at options the ESS kit versus the G power kit, similar power gains but G Power is twice the price, why ?? It looks a better kit manufacturing wise but for twice the price ? Any one shed any light on this, are the blowers different, power delivery different or anything else ? The car has BBK, Akrapovic Evolution exhaust so is ready to go, any advice most appreciated.
ESS have the largest number of customers and experience with their supercharger kit, which makes it the most proven. They have literally sold 100s of kits worldwide, with very few failures. I'd import the kit yourself and get it fitted by one of the approved ESS fitters in the UK.
What sort of price are these all in, and how does the car drive with one? Can you still apply all that power and pull off from the lights, or do you sit there wheel spinning in the first four gears???!!
I don't think they do the VT2 600 kit now? I'd put the next kit up on it 625, I would stick with ESS.
I had an Evolve supercharger on my car for 2 years with no problems whatsoever. Them being a UK company is a plus imo and their customer support has been excellent before and after installation.
Is it? I was under the impression that once you take into account VAT and shipping, it's around the same price.

Cuts out the 20% VAT
Thanks for the replies gents, has confirmed my thoughts of going the ESS route once again ! A trip to Norway had crossed my mind, I will contact them and see what the options are.
The driveability is subtle and linear. There is no punch in the back like a turbod car, the car drives as stock until you give it some welly, then it comes alive !! From my past experience the power comes in mid range to top end which is where you need it in my humble opinion. Off the mark the car is quicker but will spin the wheels if youre not careful, I think I'm talking myself into it again
For what it's worth my experience with ESS has been stellar. When I go the SC route (probably in the spring) it is ESS all the way

I didnt realise charger kits were that sort of money. Had always thought around the 10-15k mark. Umm now wheres my E92
