    Hi guys,

Does anyone know the exact date of the material change to the E92 M3 rod bearings? I have searched and got it narrowed down to around mid 2011 but was hoping someone would know the exact date.

Reason i ask is that i have a 2008 E92 M3 at the minute and looking to trade up to a competition pack car and was wondering if i was to buy a late 2011 model would it be touch and go that it would have the updated bearing material?

    Many Thanks

Late or early they all have the same potential to fail.

If a late 2011 car is still under BMW warrenty, is rod bearings a item thats covered if they fail?

    Change was 2010.

They weren’t made any better they had to be changed only due to the lead content and regulations.

It would be covered under warranty if they go yes.
