    Hi all,

Recently purchased a ‘60plate E92 coupe and I want to know if I can get the system updated? At the moment it allows me to connect my phone via Bluetooth for calling purposes but not not media Ie playing my music. Anybody know if there is an update to allow this?

    Thanks

Depends on what you have mate.

If you hava combox then there is a small update that can be loaded via the armrest usb, it adds more phones and updates the media part.

However, streaming and full media is normally a coding option.

Ive updated loads of comboxes with latest firmware and the media update as well as coding the apps etc.

If you have the MULF and TCU then not really, it does basic music.

Hi - thanks for the response. Yea I have the combox with the usb in the armrest. I was expecting it to be some sort of coding change. Would like to get this done.

    DIY

format (fat32) a small usb stick 1gb-2gb or whatever

    Go here
    https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html

enter your vin, if you need an update it will say you do and give you a link.

download the .bin file and put it on the stick.

insert into the center armrest usb, and go to the setting/update and select it.
