    **FINAL REDUCTION £17,800, no offers""

Well, I’ve hung on to this fine piece of kit for as long as I could get away with really. My boy is coming up 3 and we are getting out every weekend. Sadly the M3 is left on the drive and we take the other halves Mazda.

So it’s time to jump ship and go for something a bit more family friendly. (If anyone has a Q5, A6 Avant or similar and fancies a swap / part ex…)

The M3 came in to my hands in May 2016. It took some finding ! I specifically wanted a manual, low mileage, well documented example. Others I looked at were sadly pretty bad examples. It was worth the wait though, as I have enjoyed every minute of owning and driving what I believe to be a great example.

OK, so it’s a manual. The DCT seems to be the one to go for around here. Beats me. I still prefer the driver involvement of a manual. I can fully appreciate why people choose the DCT, but my preference was always manual. On the other side of the coin, I’ve read a good few reports on DCT problems, confirming my correct choice.

    History:

    Registration date: 10.06.2008.

    Servicing:

21.08.2008 1,997 Miles BMW Vines Guildford (Running in)
27.01.2010 15,330 Miles BMW Vines Guildford
10.02.2010 15,630 Miles BMW Vines Guildford
04.07.2011 27,691 Miles BMW Peter Vardy Edinburgh
02.12.2011 28,831 Miles BMW Phoenix (Kirkcaldy)
26.04.2013 35,749 Miles BMW Harry Fairbairn
    07.06.2014 39,692 Miles BMW Menzies
14.07.2015 44,132 Miles BMW Cooper Thames Ditton
22.02.2016 49,011 Miles BMW Cooper Thames Ditton
23.06.2017 55,374 Miles BMW Specialist AW Autoworks

Current mileage: 56,120 (22.08.17 – will increase slightly)

Two weeks back I had the dilemma of whether to use my local trusted and reputable BMW specialist, or leave the car in the hands of BMW. I decided on the specialist. Right or wrong, you decide. All I know is the guys at AW Autoworks were enthusiastic, friendly as always, and were happy to chat for a good while about the car and the work done. Thankfully they reported that the car is excellent condition mechanically. All brakes have lots of life remaining, suspension, tyres etc all fine. Castrol Edge 10W 60 FST was used. So I’m happy.

    Throttle Actuators:

The previous owner reported that both banks had definitely been done. However, there was no documentation to support this. I can confirm, I have never had a single error message, regarding any mechanical problems with the car.

Since the car has been in my hands, everything has been left exactly as standard, except the wheels. The lacquer on the original wheels began to peel, and truth be told I really fancied the AG359 wheels. In my opinion they improved the look of the car massively. No spacers or anything required. Correct offset and fitment. Standard tyres were swapped over.

    Optional extras:

Option Professional Navigation, with new 2017 disc
    Option Elec Fold Exterior Mirrors
    Option Floor mats. Velour
    Option ISOFIX Child Seat System
Option Extended storage – with boot storage net
    Option Seat heating. front
    Option High-beam Assistant
Option Park Distance Control (PDC). front and rear
    Option Adaptive Headlights
    Option USB audio interface
    Option TV function
    Option BMW Assist
    Option BMW Assist online portal
    Option Voice Control
    Option Enhanced Bluetooth telephone functionally
    Option DAB digital radio
Option Loudspeaker system - BMW Advanced

Front seats are fully adjustable including side bolster. Not sure whether this is standard.

    Condition and photos:

I will let the photos do the talking, but as a brief summary, the leather is in superb condition. I used the forum top tip, Pears soap, just yesterday on all the leather, and it came up lovely. Steering wheel, dash etc, all really nice.

Exterior wise, overall excellent. Slight niggle of mine is there are slightly noticeable spots of paint where I have filled chips (paint and clear coat) then flattened the paint back – a very time consuming affair! – Its only minor, however my OCD kicks in a times and irritates me. They’re difficult to show on photos.

I regularly look after the bodywork and interior myself. I top up with Megiars Gold Class Carnauba Wax, then use Finish Kare Ultra Gloss Detailing spray, which maintains the depth.

Wheels always have a few layers of Poorboys wheel sealant, tyres dressed with Angel Wax.

    The good bit !...

As it stands, car is in need of nothing. Freshly serviced. Just needs someone who has time to enjoy it !

    Price:

Taking in to account the vehicle’s age, history, condition, mileage, options, I am pricing the car at £18,750. I believe this to be very fair, and it is priced to sell i.e. no offers whatsoever. Without trying to sound harsh, please only contact if you are happy with the price, presuming you are equally happy upon viewing.

Test drives: Car will only be driven by myself I’m afraid. Any inspection welcome.

    I am in Middlesbrough, Teesside.

I hope that covers everything. Any questions, ask away :)

I'd personally remove the bit about the throttle actuators unless you can find paper work to back it up, if you've no proof I'd certainly not believe somebody's word as its such an expensive item to fix when they go wrong.

    Thanks Craig.

I just prefer to include as much info a possible about the car. Throttle Actuators is something which is often asked about, so the answer (sort of) is there in the advert.

It would be sad to think that it may put someone off considering the car, when in reality they have probably been changed. Even if not, in the event that an actuator fails, there is a wealth of information on here on how to get them repaired/changed reasonably.

I'm really tempted on one of these for the summer in your colour as well, but the throttle actuators are a thing I'd want done or price adjusted if both did go.
You're only down the road so best of luck with the sale

Craig, not sure exactly what you're asking. Are you interest in my specific car? You're welcome to come and have a look, but i'm afraid the actuators - like everything else - is reflected in the price.

You'll be hard pressed to find as good an example at this price.

FWIW, have you read about Rebuild.org.uk? You send them off and they fully repair them with a guarantee for a very good price.

But like I say best of luck.

Beautiful car mate, and only 177 RHD in that colour.

Worth the money for the spec, miles and condition. Can't see how many owners it has had, but unless its like 10 or more that is not a good reason not to buy it.

    Thanks Cuttah.

Colour looks lovely in the flesh with the Carnauba wax etc. Its the only car i've owned which i'm happy to spend hours pampering lol.

6 previous owners. About average. No problem for me as its been looked after.

Just a thought for anyone interested. Maybe give AW Autoworks a ring, im sure they'd be happy to give you their views on the car, with it being serviced 2 weeks ago

    Thanks Kev,

Yes, it's certainly different. The trouble with these cars is finding the right one for you, at the time you are looking for an M3. Took me ages !

One of my favourite colours. If I didn't have my heart set on a comp pack I'd be wanting a viewing.

Had a thought, for anyone interested.

I appreciate that not many people have this sort of money lying around. If anyone is seriously interested in the car but is not quite ready to buy, I would be inclined to take a deposit for a few weeks (say 8 weeks) and hold the car.

This is all subject to a viewing and being totally happy with the car, and the mileage may increase very slightly.

Deposit would be non-refundable, unless obviously anything was to happen with the car in the meantime.

I am in a position to do this as I am not in a rush to sell the car, and truth be told I don't particularly want to lol.

Read the full post. I don't think its madness

As I said, it would be non-refundable.

With regards to the Actuators, phone BMW customer services.

They will give you full details of every visit to a BMW dealer - you might then need to call each dealer to find out the work done, but if it was done by BMW, that will give you your answer
