    Hi guys,

As our process has evolved over the years, and when new products/tools/coatings become available we continue to update our E46 Subframe Crack Repair & Reinforcement Process.

So this is an example of an E46 M3 CSL which had our repair this summer.

There may be words needed for the 118 pictures of this job but I will just upload the pictures for now and if anyone would like to clarify anything or ask about a specific(s) picture they can do so and I will be happy to help.

This is an exact example of what happens during one of our repairs.

Not only the knowledge of the stitch welding application into the rear side, additional spot weld drilling and replacing, OEM spot weld drilling & plug welding, 3-layer penetration, and vertical additional plug welds on the rear sections, coupled with our 5-layer corrosion protection procedure sees the repair carrying a 5-year guarantee against normal/fair usage (i.e not track, race, drift, forced induction).

    The bare metal receives:
    Etch primer
    Sprayable Seam Sealer
BMW Sapphire Black - base coat
Sunox Clear Lacquer - top coat
    Spray Wax Coating

After our underside procedure is completed, we then inject 1.6L (4x double cartridges) of BMW Structural Foam into both left and rear cavities of the Rear Axle Carrier Panel to surround the threaded receiver and combat the tipping/twisting motion.

It goes without saying how the car's interior and exterior are cared for and protected with only the best protection covers like Kling-On Seat Covers, Double Size Floor Mats, Tight Steering Wheel Covers, and certain panels receive an ultra low-tac Blue Protection Tape to help cover them from traffic when leaning into the boot for example.

The car receives a Brake Fluid Change & Full System Bleed using ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid.

Every single fixing (M6, M8, M10, M12, M14) is digitally torqued with a Snap-On Tech Angle, and then paint/chalk marked and pictured for our records.

The car receives a 12 mile road test by either myself James (multiple E46 M3 owner) or Luke (E39 M5 and multiple BMW owner) who treat the car with the utmost of respect, to the level that we've been known to change our planned route if a road has been resurfaced etc.
We've even had 2x customers over the years who had Intravee installed, who commented how nicely the previous drive reports were when they reviewed them.

Then it's a 4-wheel digital alignment to set Rear Toe, Rear Camber (if not seized), Front Toe (if not seized), and Front Camber and Caster (if adjustable top mounts present).

Finally I (James) personally clean each vehicle using exclusively high end products from such places as cleanyourcar and i4detailing.
I spend around 2.5 hours on each car nowadays.
    Exterior:
    Snow foam
    Poorboys alloy wheel cleaner
    Rinse
    Iron-X
    Rinse
Light wash using a premium lambskin wash mitt
Light dry using 38" x 28" waffle-weave microfibre drying towel
Sonus tyre dressing with Meguiars applicator
    Interior:
Light dust with fresh microfibre over all interior surfaces including dash, seats, door cars etc
Very light use of Aerospace 303 for some of the hard plastics and door cards and entrance trims
Full vacuum of the whole interior, under seats, mats out etc
    Aircon Bomb - Fresh Linen

Here's the picture set example from a recent Subframe Crack Repair & Reinforcement Process on an E46 M3 CSL:

This CSL had a rollcage inside and that's why those additional plates have previously been installed in the boot:

This is how we found previously welded harness plates in the transmission tunnel.

Also, whoever replaced the clutch/gearbox didn't put the SMG rear gear actuator bracket M6 bolts x2. So we installed some, torqued them, and paint marked them.

We also replaced the CPV which was leaking engine oil.

    Thank you.

Check is around £40, but if you are having any other work done which requires the car to be on a ramp we do it for free.

If you need the floor reinforcing/repairing we charge £1490+vat, but that includes our plate kit and resin injection of the 2 rear subframe mount locations.

Thank you. Glad we impressed you.

Can I just ask, how much more expensive is the underside restoration if you doing it with the floor repair/reinforcment?

Sorry, just found the information in another thread
