The car is coming along nicely mate, it's looking good now. When's the first outing planned?
I've got 2 sets of o.z ultraleggera wheels in 8x17 et38 and a set of rota grids the same for sale if you need some spare track wheels?
Matt Dm Me how much you want for a set of oz wheels. First outinh should be mid March I think! Fingers crossed do a shake down day at Innis gton then maybe April track day at the ring
Getting there with this now! Basically just wiring exhaust and brake to finish. Got a bit of messing about to with seating position too.
Hope to be out the 25th April At donnington and 23rd of May at cadwell so fingers crossed!
Looking good mate I hope I get to see it on track sometime this year.
Did you get my email mate?
No I hadn’t seen it until I just read this! I’ve messaged the guy. Hope your still keeping the lights on!
Epic- great build!
So should update this really, finally got it working/moving/driving.
Ended up going for KW clubsport suspension from Martin he sorted me out a good deal and I was very happy!
Got it on the road took it for the MOT and the brand new nissens radiator burst. Thinking it had a defect. All being well it should be getting sorted today. Here are a few pics.
Well really pleased with the car! Had a good shakedown at a localish sprint track with a few mates today. Faultless all day and feels very quick! I was worried a bit by having the standard evo diff ratio but it doesn’t seem Too tall at all!
Now time for some proper trackdays!

Really looks awesome Warren!
A real credit to you mate
Sweet!! Yes mate, that looks ace, great job fella. I think the wheels make it. Best part of the car
I hope we can get to the same track at the same time one day
Cheers guys! Yeah hopefully we will have to get one organised! Somewhere in the middle of us both!
So I did an evening session at donnington last Monday. The weather was spot on! The day session was rammedand so was the evening but not many people seemed to be out on track it was brilliant. Then I got black flagged!
Apparently I was 102.9db on the noise meters so that was that! I ended up just going round in fourth all evening not revving it out.
Then I started to losing lot of water. I thought at first it was an air lock in the system tried bleeding it went out again still losing water. No leaks anywhere. So I came to the conclusion the head gasket has gone. On the last run out the header tank was also bubbling. Bummer!
So I possibly need to do something with my exhaust and do my head gasket. I’m also not happy with the air box set up. So I’m going to look into changing that for a different one with a proper filter.
So start d taking the engine to bits to sort the head gasket. All looked very clean inside. I quickly came to the conclusion the engine had had a rebuild. Got down to the head and it looked like the original head bolts had been used and also the original head gasket! Another thing I couldn’t believe was how tight the spark plugs were!
The head went off to be pressure checked and it also needed skimming slightly. Ordered all my bits from Hack engineering to get it all back together and putting some arp head studs in for good measure. Also doing the vanos seals while the top end is in bits.
I wasn’t happy with my airbox set up either really. It needed the front snorkel and smaller rad. But I wasn’t to struck on this. So I had a chat with Martin from ms motorsport and I’ve gone for a karbonius airbox which fits the itg csl filter. Quality is very good!
Booked on an evening session 12th July at donnington so hope to get it all sorted and road miles on it before then!
I hope to be out at the Nurburgring shortly after the trackday although I need to change my seats for this!
Niiiiice!! Top work fella. That’s a lovely looking air box too.
Your car is coming on a treat mate, can’t wait to get the same trackday booked for a good look at it.
I am really not sure how I have missed this so far!
I love what you have done with the car so far mate, I really do think nothing beats an s54 e36. it's the perfect combo!
Thanks Matt that would be mega! Silverstones in the middle ish for us both?
Thanks tris are you venturing over to do a uk track day at some point this year? Interested to see how your new diff setup goes.
