Could you PM me what kind of money it costs to get this done? Been on my list to do but scares me trying to find a good body shop

As these cars get older, you will get owners which have invested heavily in maintenance and bodywork and the dreamers which will claim their rustboxes have original paint, worth a lot more and dreaming about sitting on a house deposit money. On top of it you will never hear the end of how much money they made owning the same car 50 years of their life never driving it

No mate, they arent. not where I live. That's the asking price. The selling price is a more realistic 2/3 of the asking price

No idea where you are? I assume the UK. I know what my car is worth and seen many like it sell for what I value it at. Check out what cars have sold for at auction, you will see the GT range makes strong money.

Just checked, your around 1.5 hours away from me. Check what these cars are actually going for, you will be surprised. Unless you are talking about a M3 none GT

I completely agree that they are worth more than a regular M3 but not by what people might think.
Take for example the car from auction: https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/bmw-e36-m3-imola-individual--gt2-
In theory its worth £26400 after dropping £6k on exterior paint alone.

After you take away the £6k recent work, thats basically a maximum of £20k for a 1999 74k miles M3
Standard Evos are not far from that price for the mileage and year.

Now what could a 130k miles Imola red with bubbly arches sell for?£15k? Not deposit money if you ask me and definitely not worth loosing sleep over.
    Just my 2c

I can respectfully say you are incorrect and I factually know your incorrect because I know what I paid for mine April 2018. They aren't for everyone but for myself and I assume Mboon they are something we both see value in. The E36 will always be a special car for me and whilst I fully accept the GT2's price is quite mad considering its not that much different to a normal one, the fact remains we have 1 of 50 ever made and they are and always will be very rare and a connoisseurs choice in a collection.

They all get enthusiastically priced based on other overpriced ones, stay on sale for a long time and then unsold.
Haven't you had yours on sale a couple of years ago for £20k ?How did that go

Incorrect again chap. Mine came on the market and was sold within 2 days. I have quite a decent car collection so I'd like to think I'm no idiot and I see the value in the rarity. Generally humans value rare items.

Either way man try not to hate us guys who own them and try not to talk us down. We are all free to see, buy and value things as we do. Your entitled to your opinion of course but we are also entitled to ours. Maybe we can all agree to disagree.

Sounds like leave or remain now doesn't it haha.

I understand the rarity. Mine is 1/13 ever made in Atlantis Blue. But you also must consider 99% of potential buyers aren't to bothered about it.
Would you buy a red one for £30k or a black one for £10k?
    They arent exactly CSL M3

A limited run is quite different to a colour not often spec'd.....

I made exactly the choice your asking....I spent £38k on a 56k miles Imola Red one and I do not regret it at all. I've spent a further £4k - £5k getting it resprayed into tip top condition. The guy I bought it off paid £8k for it 5 years earlier and literally never drove it. Whilst the £30k uplift is painful, I was also pleased for him as he made a great gamble 5 years prior so fair play to the lad.

I added it to my JBR Capital account and they had no issue with it's value either....

I believe these will command big money in 10yrs+ time. However I didn't buy it for that reason, I bought it because I love the E36 and I will hand it down to my little lad when he comes of age. (altho if he sells it I might disown him haha)

He did a great job of my CSL to be fair to the lad.

I bought it off a chap called Justin who was a top bloke.

he bought it 5 years earlier off eBay from Newcastle area I believe and just kept it in storage.
