Apparently it’s the silicone in these products that causes all the trouble, never had this problem on my old M4 but my new M3 was a bleeding nightmare. Would give neat IPA or Wonder Wipes a go and see if it helps.

Exactly, autoglym products seem to be very bad for it

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Multi-Use-...15466&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=wonder+wipe&psc=1

@glynharper get some of the wipes above and just clean the seals every time you wash the car

Yep, use IPA here, just squirt on a cloth after washing the car and wipe the felt trim down with it thoroughly

There is a dealer fix for this Melv. A genuine puma case. It involves putting a clear tape all the way around the inner door where the rubber touches. You need a good craftsman to put it on perfect. I had mine done by Cotswolds after 2 weeks of ownership. Not a single creak since then (5 months)

Mine just started creaking like hell since the detailing - not sure if it’s the washing or ceramic but it sounds like being in the the hold of an old boat !!!

Scott - did you have to make a visit to have the creaking evidenced followed by a follow up for the strips to be fitted or where you taken care of during the same visit - I’m due down there soon and think this is well worth having done !

Ive put this down to shampoo whilst washing. If you wipe over the felt parts, at the very top of the doors, it will stop the creaking :)

The sound is currently entertaining me as it’s so ridiculous - near comical / I’m going to loose my sense of humour soon however - how can they still sell these cars with such issues !

Phoned them in advance mate. They recommended the fix and booked in at a time where the chief tech was available. On the day they did the job whilst I waited. It took approx 3 or 4 hours. The guy did a brilliant job, Perfection !

BMW did this to mine a couple of years ago, no more noise. It’s worth doing.

Cotswold BMW applied the tape to mine last week - all sorted now with no noise ! It seems like a fiddly job to apply the tape but done right it sits between the door seal and paint and omits the creaks ! Had called in advance and fortunately when the technician was moving the car into the workshop it was creaking away so no issues with this being done on the spot via warranty !

Hi, just experiencing the same problem is the tape stuck to the black plastic Shadow line trim or on the bodywork?

It’s a bmw fix and apparently it’s a pain in the ar*e to apply, I persevered with just cleaning the top seal and giving it a good coat of Gummi pledge and it’s perfect now and mine was an absolute joke.

Think that was what he was implying. I've fitted myself on both an E39 and E60. Easy job, only takes a few minutes once you've positioned the tape correctly.

Seals started creaking on my current F80 but this time i just cleaned with a solution of water/fairy liquid and a hard tooth brush. Did that a couple of years ago and the seals have been quiet ever since :)
