    Hi

Looking at changing my rear diff oil, Euro car parts recommend 75w140 Castrol? If that seems correct how many litres should I buy (sold in 1ltr bottles)

Also from research it seems good practice to add ' redline friction modifier' whilst changing the oil, which is 114ml...

Also any recommendations for the gearbox oil?

    Thanks in advance

As for friction modifier, its generally added to stop customer complaints of grumbling on the diff. If you are using fresh fluids you might not get any noise anyway. I'd personally not bother with it.

With regard to gearbox oil it's Pentosin DCTF 3 or 4. I can't remember which. I'm sure theyll have a product matcher and I'd not be surprised if the newer fluid is likely better and backwards compatible with what was available when the DCT was released.

Get Castrol Syntrax, you won't need any friction modifier. Let me say - I didn't need any friction modifier.

Thanks very much for the response and the useful links :)

Castrol Syntrax is what Euro Car Parts is showing when I enter the reg, around £30 per 1L delivered plus whatever discount they usually have so fairly reasonable

    Cheers
