Picked up my brand new M2C in December 2020, just getting the nice weather for taking it out and making the most of it...

Then, driving to work Monday morning, someone drove into the back of me on the motorway about 50ish mph. They flipped over and slid on their roof. Luckily both of us are okay.

Currently waiting to see whether it’s written off or will be repaired.

absolutely gutted because they don’t make them new anymore either. Not sure whether I want it back or written off and start again to be honest.

Jeez mate, sorry to hear that. What with lockdown and the rubbish weather I bet you’ve hardly had an opportunity to enjoy it.

Hope you get the outcome you are after. I think for me if it was that much damage, I’d prefer it was written off.

The main thing is that you are ok. Gutted for you about your car. You will have a difficult decision to make once you know the outcome of the cars condition.

Thanks all. Really gutted about it but thankful everyone got away with it with nothing serious. Got an A8 courtesy car which is good for the neck.

Just the inevitable bad whiplash and inflated insurance premiums to look forward to.

I feel I’d want to go brand new again if it’s an option, but there’s no M2 yet and the M3/M4 are out my current bracket financially really.

can I post pictures from an iPhone on here? I’ll load them when I get chance

Sorry to hear this but glad that everyone walked away.

I am sure there will be a new M2C lurking somewhere if the need be,

Sorry to hear, but at least it was a rear end shunt. Open and shut case in your favour, still leaves an accident on your insurance and will affect your policy.

If you were looking at getting out of a finance deal early, guess you got lucky in that respect.

Just had an update on it, it’s being repaired as the value meant the damage didn’t quite equal a write off.

One takeaway from this which is really reassuring - these cars are very strong and really properly built. I’ve been to see it mid repair today, and the damage didn’t go beyond the rear end of the car despite the hefty impact.

not sure how it’ll feel when I get it back or how I’ll be about it, but the garage it’s in have very good reviews, recently by another M2C owner too.

I hope you put a whiplash claim in.

Out of character? Me? You must be having a laugh!

LOL all jokes aside, no worries fella.

To clarify (incl. anyone else reading this) I’m not insinuating the OP should commit insurance fraud. He most definitely should not.

I’m saying if the whiplash manifests as a result of the accident (due to his mention of whiplash in the 2nd paragraph of his 2nd post and the strong possibility of whiplash occurring from the accident itself [ie being hit at 50mph from the rear]); he should put a claim in. He should also be firm in terms of payout as insurance companies usually lowball to begin with.

All of the above is mentioned in the aim of helping the OP and anyone else who finds themselves in the same or a similar situation.

I hope you had gap insurance! In any case, you’re alive and it’s only metal. Take a step step back and spend a bit of time scouring the classifieds. Oh...... I bet everyone else is thinking but doesn’t want to say......:worthless:
