Proper review coming soon once I get a chance to drive.....
Wow! What a noise. It’s enough to send you straight to the classifieds!
Sounds mega congrats!
Thanks guys. Makes a huge difference even though it’s not massively louder with the 2 pipe mod. Definitely prefer it and the exhaust sound now matches the lovely V8 engine
Cracking video. Really captures all of the changes in sound, through various sequences, conditions and rev ranges. Best video I’ve seen for that actually!
Mine had the two pipe mod also, essential mod, the S65 sounds sooooooo good! I absolutely fucking love the E9X M3. Proper car, with a proper engine and soundtrack.
Thanks Keith, it was your 2 pipe 'review' post that spurred me on to get this! Thanks for that, it 100% describes what I have experienced so far. The video was knocked up very quickly.... I was using a simple set up. I actually got the Gopro originally for snowboarding but realised I can use it for the car if I get a mount and mic. It's a cheap mic but I'm going to play around with the mic location too at some point, internal / external etc.
I wanted to do a before video too but didn't get time to edit the clips for that. The 2 pipe mod sounds are more important!
Some goodies arrived yesterday from Rybrook BMW, superfast delivery and great service.... thank you guys!
Also got some genuine BMW rubber matts for the front which should help over winter.
Will be fitting in the next few days.
What is that carbon loveliness mate? Spoiler?
Indeed mate, good guess! Some progress tonight but my fingers are aching a fair bit haha:
Using the Mrs hair thing to heat up the lip spoier, this really helped due to the slightly colder weather. I tried flossing first of all but the floss kept breaking. I couldn't find where I put my fishing wire so had to improvise.... Ended up using the bit of ribbon you sometimes get inside women's clothes to hang them! Worked perfect.
That remington thing helped again. Still not sure what it is, definitely not a hair dryer, perhaps a curler of some sort. Either way it heated up the old tacky tape and (half) saved my fingers and thumb skin. The black stuff pretty much rolled off like a little ball. Still a bit of a challenge but definitely helped!
I then clayed the area and ensured all prepped well. Too dark to do anything else so I will fit it tomorrow.
Of course I test fitted and it's perfect being OEM
Side by side, little bro and big bro haha
I also got some OEM rubber matts to get me through the winter. They're OK look, practical more than anything else. Odd one, buy carpets and matts to protect the carpet which you never see......!
Looking good mate it’s a bitch of a job getting that tape off right!? I gave my self a bloody friction burn on my fingers lol.
Tell me about it. It hurts to text on my phone. It hurts more to type on the laptop!!! It's a weird combo of friction burn, carpet burn, too much skin movement, nail ache, thinning skin, dry skin too! Only those who have done it will understand lol
How’s the quality of the red start and M buttons? Would you purchase the same Chinese parts again?
If so, do you have a link for them?
Don’t worry, I found links you’ve posted previously and have gone for it.
Sorry I have just seen this. The links I used before were maybe eBay? I actually ordered from Aliexpress in the end which ended up saving a little:
Very pleased with the quality, like OEM. Most things are made in China anyway!
Both are being delivered for £12 from a couple of eBay sellers. If the quality is lousy, I’ll use your links.
Stuck on the 3M tape as per Keith's thread. I did have the Betalink but didn't really want to go down the permanent route at this stage. I'll see how the 3M holds up
During.... I applied the VHB 3M tape to all possible contacts points, using just under 3 metres
Applied and stuck down
I'll get some proper after shots later
Some after shots of the M performance rear spoiler. It does change up the rear nicely. Now I'm thinking about front corner splitters or perhaps a lip I like....
Small update here, fitted some replica splitters in carbon. I would normally go OEM but just couldn't justify the £400+ price. Managed to pick up a cheap set from another member for £50. The fit was mediocore and needed a lot of work, dremel and heating, to get it to look reasonable! I'm happy for now, and will decide later on if I'm going to keep them. Would love a full lip but probably not practical with the bumps everywhere
Nice example you're got there - subscribed and looking forward to the updates!
Looking good mate. Might attack my spoiler today. I’ve had a busy few days with her.
