Current plan is: For now - 997.1 C4S (actively looking) For when things calm down with Brexit/Covid/Economy - 981 GT4 For when I win the lottery or mortgage paid off - 991.2 GT3
True it certainly won’t be as sharp as the GT4 on their limits as I believe the GT4 shares the same suspension components as the GT3s but I’ve never driven a GT4 so no idea exactly how hardcore they are as a daily. I also think the GTS is more like a Carrara S or 4S, they are the road going everyday sports car in the 911/Porsche range a bit like how M3s are everyday cars. Quick, and do most things well, engine likes to scream, you can do the shopping in them, school runs, and be comfortable and hardcore where you need them. Saying that I would personally daily a GT4 it would be fun especially if the suspension was setup right for it, it’s just I need back seats, as I like taking my toddler out with the missus in the front. Beats going out in a 4x4 or similar that’s why I need a 911 with back seats, otherwise I’d also be in a GT4
So if I was to come back to Porsche the contenders are - 991.2 or 992 GT3 - track weapon and perfect car to have in garage 992 4S or GTS - all the Porsche you need and can do everything 991.2 Turbo S or 992 Turbo S - The Daddy end of or if chips come in a 991.3 GT3RS WP
Have a cayenne currently, have had it a couple of years and use it to commute 100 odd miles a day. Will be looking to change it in a year or two and cant see myself moving away from porsche, might have to be another cayenne or possibly a Panamera this time as they really have sorted the styling out.
917k in Gulf racing livery, watched as 3 of these went around Goodwood in the rain with headlights blazing as near to a Le Mans finish as you could get..
Once mortgage is gone, a GT3 RS would be my dream car, ideal for road blasts at the weekend but more importantly reliable enough to drive to the track and have a right good session with me as the only limit.
What an absolute whopper that bloke is! Apart from the lunatic currently running the USA I can’t think of anyone with a bigger ego. My take on that piece of tripe is that when he phoned up trying to get an allocation for a GT car ( lost count of how many times he mentioned he realises he won’t be able to get one) the salesman understandably had no idea who he was (which obviously annoyed him) and clearly didn’t start blowing bubbles up his rectum. Then proceeded to tell him he’s got no chance of getting a GT of any sort, wouldn’t be surprised if the previous salesman left a note on his file explaining what nuclear grade bell end he was also, hence no contact. Haven’t watched any of his other vids but that’s enough for me to decide he’s a sausage waving cretin who thinks the world revolves around his axis.
He’s not really talking about GT allocations he’s talking about how the bunch of cretins at OPC Bournemouth and Portsmouth treat their customers in general. And he’s spot on. It’s about time certain OPCs are publicly shamed for their attitude to customers. So many continue blowing smoke about OPCS (in the how they might get a GT but in reality it’s all stitch up anyway) whereas in reality they do treat us as customers really badly. I’ve bought my last 4 Porsche from Solihull and Leeds and I live <10mins from Porsche Bournemouth. The hassle of travelling north is more than offset by the benefit of not needing deal with the local OPC that Damian’s talking about.
You nailed it there, my favourite seen on cutters he is a Wankpuffin It’s a look at me I’m important video, I would not want to sell him a car , and if that’s a typical Porsche buyer I’m out
Sadly, social media turns some into raving lunatics, well it appears that way to me, or maybe it’s me that’s the lunatic
Well if that was his intention it certainly didn’t come across to me. Apart from not being phoned up and having his ego massaged what content did he have as justification of poor customer service?
You're in sales, you get an account for someone who has bought 3 new cars recently, has dosh, and expressed an interest in others. And you don't bother your ar$e. Then when he does call in, you try and flog him some dodgy porsches that are cutters-only quality. What is hard to understand?
I used to live near OPC Bomo and bought first from them and never again - full of bell ends. Used OPC Swindon but sadly they have joined the bell end crowd!
