    Hi Chaps..

Looking for recommendations in East Anglia (eg Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs, Essex) of where to take my M4 for Corner weighting and 4 wheel alignment.

If you have had this done locally - what did you pay?

    Thanks!

Only go to a qualified suspension engineer or chassis dynamacist. The rest really do not understand what they are doing or why. Sam Borgman at TDI in Thurock is qualified. He will dispel all the nonsense you read on forums about corner weighting and suspension set ups. The rake of the M4 is fundamental to its performance - most companies have no idea how calculate the ideal rake or indeed include it in your set up.

Chassis set up is mostly about taking measurements of the car and mathematically calculating the set up which is then refined on the road or track.

Is this worthwhile on a stock e46? I’ve just replaced my shocks and track rods and need a geometry check and adjust.

I don't believe so because unless the ride height of the car can be adjusted, a full chassis dynamic set up cannot be carried out. You could give Sam Borgman a ring to check to see what he recommends? You'll pay more for a chassis dynamic set up than a standard geometry alignment too.

Mine will be going to TDI. They will also be fitting the ACS springs. I've already had a good conversation with them but am waiting until Monday to sort out a date as they want the car for a week.
