Had to drive into town the other week to collect the wife, I couldn't get to the train station because the road was blocked by a load of inconsiderate wakners called 'extinction rebellion'.

A large group of what looked like teenagers and hippies who should have been at work and not causing me a major inconvenience, why haven't the police moved this lot on?

So a quick google has brought me up to speed, but I'm just having trouble believing its as bad as their making out. I remember being told 40 years ago that all the world's oil would be depleted within 25 years and here we are still using it on a massive scale.

Then I saw this graph, it predicted how the world was going to warm up and it hasn't either, so what's your thoughts..

    http://www.moralcaseforfossilfuels.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/18-4.3.jpg

Are the predictions true or a load of horse shiit?

Were we to blame for the Ice age, or it’s melting? Or the Stone Age, or Iron Age...?

Load of tosh, it’s the earth doing it’s natural thing imo. The biggest help towards climate change would be to get rid of those mouth breather protestor types..... oh and vegans!!

    There is nothing to 'belive'

Facts are facts wether or not individuals 'beleive' them.

The earths cycles of heating and cool over geological time are nothing new.

It is the rate at which this temperature change is occuring i.e. far quicker, that is directly corrulated with human activity and is the problem. It is easy and simple to varify this conclusion by comparing current data to historic data.

It is a problem because the rate of change does not give the majority of species enough time to change and adapt to their changing environment, as they would if the change occured more slowly, and so they simply die out.

The Ultimatly reason people will care about this is a selfish one, as is mean crops start failing, rain stops falling and there isnt enough to support the already rediculous over population that exists.

The cause of world war three? fighting over dwindeling resources.

I'm currently on the fence tbh, but how comes the world has actually got cooler since 2016 and Russia had it's coldest winter for years?

I agree that facts are facts. However the interpretation of those facts is not so sure.
For instance, how do we compare the current trend of the warming earth with what happened at the end of the last ice age - what was that, 12000 years ago?
We've only been taking mean temperature measurements for a hundred years or so. That's a drop in the ocean in geological time.

Are we causing it? I don't know. It all sounds very plausible but there are way too many variables to compute.
They thought Pluto was a planet when I was young.
They thought the moon was made of good cream cheese! :)

It's a hell of a good way to tax people though!

    I blame the Americans .

I’m there at the moment, and they do nothing (or very very little) in the way of recycling or conserving energy.

Climate change is real but atm I'd say polluting our oceans with billions of tonnes of plastic is the real danger. These micro plastics will soon end up in our systems causing god knows what in terms of health complications.

I'm with you on that. It's something we can change pretty quickly if necessary, and we should.

Climate change is a longer process, and like anything you need to tackle the worst offenders first. If you went into a struggling business tasked with turning it round you'd start with the most critical issues and chip away at those first as those are the ones most likely to bring it down. Do that and the chances are a lot of the smaller issues resolve themselves as people fall into line. Another way interpreting that is what's the point in clamping down on gas guzzling cars and taxing them to high heaven when major players like China are doing a million more times the damage with their actions. Yes it's all an issue, but the real problem I see is again corruption - using the problem to extort money (i.e. taxes) instead of tacking the critical issues.

It may be part of a natural pattern that is not yet fully understood, however nobody can tell me that the satellite photos of China and the shite it is pumping out, that it's composed of fairy dust.
Thinking back over my years, one thing is for sure, weather is not as it used to be. Sure we had harsh winters and well hot summers, but seasons were pretty clearly defined. Much less of this mad stuff we seem to see more often nowadays.

Sure the earth has cycled weather and sometimes its hot, sometimes its cold, blah blah.

    You dont need to get scientific about it;

Just look at the amount of shït that gets pumped into the atmosphere and the oceans, anyone really think that isnt going to cause some kind of problem?

I believe we are contributing a bit to speeding up the natural cycle of the earth which is currently towards warming...

However just 11,000 years ago (which is nothing in date terms) there was an Ice age with ice 200 foot thick as far down as Norwich...

This Ice age had lasted for about 2.5 million years previously and the warming up after it had nothing to do with man...

I'm fooked if I want to go back to that so yes lets control things which could harm the world a bit better but enjoy it while we can without going too overboard.....
