Classic car insurance query

    hey peeps, does any one know how old a car needs to be to qualify for classic car insurance.

    My e36 m3 us coming up to 20 years old next month and is also due for its insurance.

    Considering people on here have E46's insured under classic car I would expect an E36 to be eligible, it's about finding the right company that will do it.

    It's not a case of age in my experience but vehicle type, I had my E92 M3 on a classic policy through the BMW Car Club GB..........I think the club qualifies any "M" car for a classic policy.

    I thought it was ten years, as managed to get my wife’s old boxster on one as soon as it was 10 years old. Then she wanted to upgrade...
