    Hello all,

Starting to look for something like a 17 plate M4, M2, even S5. Am I reading it right, that on top of the normal yearly VED, because these cars had an original list price of over 40k, each year, for 5 years, I’d have to pay an additional £310 on top?

    Ta.

My 17 plate M4 was £300 for the year my 18 plate 320d is £475 .....load of bollox

Make sure you get one registered before March 2017 then you’ll escape the higher tax rate

The real piss take is when you're told that an electric car attracts £0 VED because you're being all eco-friendly, only to find that when it costs £42,000 to buy you're shafted for the £310 VED!

a few months back in work i had an app for a brand new hurracan. for most people it would have cost £2135 to tax for the first year, plus £55 for the first reg fee. and then for the next 5 years, it would have been £140 + £310 due to it costing over £40,000 list price.

BUT, it was taxed in a 'disabled' tax class, therefore absolutley none of those fees applied to him (or her) :muttley: - clever sod

There’s a surprise the government clawing back more money from motorists and doing it on the QT.

I wish I done my research before transferring over 40k to the dealer!! Then at the end when taxing the car me expecting to pay around £155 for the tax and card in hand to pay the dealer tells me it’s £465

Would’ve given me a upper hand before doing the deal on a better price.
Three year plan for this car so that’s a extra £930!!
Think of the mods I could’ve had.

Just renewed my tax (17 plate m4) and as above it was £465 for the year. A substantial increase in the 15 plate I had a few years ago.
