    I have a question / comment.

I have to sell my M3, (I work freelance and have lost a contract and had to take a cut in rate). As I've only had it a 4 months this is pretty hard going. The forum rules won't let me post the car for sale in the "For Sale" section as I haven't had enough activity on the forum.

I'm not one to post loads on a forum but that doesn't mean I haven't been on here looking for views and info about my car.

I also understand the reason to restrict the sales area so it doesn't become a free advertising area. When I was looking for the car I ended up buying from PH as there wasn't a great deal for sale on here. Is that just the way the forum runs or is there any leeway with this?

    Thanks
    Matt

This is the 3rd post in the last few days along the same lines mate and the other two didn't get a single response. Basically no, I don't believe there is any leeway with this.

Another forum I use has the option for users to pay £5 to post in the for sale section if they don't have enough posts. Might be worth considering here?

No exception mate sorry. It's the same rule for everyone. No fees are excepted. Just need to get involved a bit more and it won't take long till you can sell as much as you want on here for free

I know it's frustrating but overall it's a good system. Since the start I can only recall a few occasions when a trade has gone wrong - pretty good success:fail ratio.

Its worth punting it around ebay and AUTOTRADER usual places mate.

Or like the guys say get involved a bit on here and get your posts up.....
beware though after being on here for a while and speaking to these fellas they know their stuff and I've ended up keeping mine lol!!!

(Though that's the sign of a good thing!)

I'm in the same boat however, stick your car on autotrader and ebay...you will get a lot of exposure on there

But you'll be sure to attract a lot of timewasters (ebay)

Always had success on autotrader though

Matty this is NOT meant to patronise but sometimes debt or fear of it can be good. It will really motivate you to find more business. If you can, you will be glad when she's still parked on your drive. Good luck whatever you do

Purely out of interest, how many posts do you need to be able to post in the for sale section?

thats for parts and other things apart from cars

you have to pay for listing cars

i think they made an updated rule, something like if your account is 2? yrs old, you get free car adverts.

not sure if that still stands now. might have changed it again since putting the price to £9.99
