I too have had the Gee map, and it's a piece of dog sh*t. It feels very powerful, but as it turns out, it's just too aggressive, and the standard throttle map is played around with (bad).

Evolve are the only guys that really know their stuff about ECU tuning. Not only that, but Sal and his team are proper gentlemen, unlike the likes of a lot of garages.

I remember when i reversed from the garage - i had spun my wheels with not much throttle input... i thought - it must be an oil patch on the floor or something.... but there wasn't one. :roflmao:
When i realised what sort of quality remap that was - i complained and got a refund but not until Mike insisted that my car be remapped again. 6 hours of dyno testing, messing with my ecu and me sitting in the office for 6 straight hours!! ....

After 6 hours of some furious remapping and half a tank of petrol later - there was a result of 350 bhp. I was pleased with the number but there was a catch.... or two. Mike said to me - the software he uploaded is very agressive and has very poor drivability and SECONDLY - he needs to open up the ECU box to solder in a protection board so that his experimental remap won't be copied!

To make matters even worse.... 10 minutes laters, Mike says, he's run out of protection boards and asked me to come back in a week. I did come back only to collect my money back. TBH, i should have charged for the missed day off work, petrol and councelling costs. What an experience that was!! :roflmao: A proper A LOL tuning.

    ^^
So your map was from ALT and not ' Gee's map' which you pre quoted.

Just to make things crystal - AAT and ALT are 2 seperate entities - to avoid confusion for future customers - there is demarcation between the 2 service providers......allegedly

Anyway, The OP quoted a map from CA and Evolve and not Evolve and Gee/ALT - so any references to the later should be irrelevent unless CA wish to chime in and elaborate.

These two guys are brothers anyway and share ecu remaps

My experience of ALT has been just that.... horrible. I got ripped off.

    Hi Chaps

    just to say :

    1. Evolve' s maps are excellent imo !
    2. I would expect little difference in terms of bottom line performance gains between CA and Evolve maps though as with any good map tuner
    3. we do NOT talking about the "Gee / AL " map that some are mentioning on here, our maps come from a totally seperate source that we have been using many years. 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, no power gain no charge, as I believe is also the case with Evolve.

    Hi Chris

As you are probably aware, no tuner can guarantee the exact power gain your car will show from their remap, only a range of possible gains, as each car will respond slightly different to the next for any number of reasons ( engine condition, age etc ) .

As long as you choose a good tuner, we are all doing basically the same job, using the same base info, and will all get results very close to each other assuming we all stay within the same generally accepted limits of "safety".

We normally see gains of + 15 - 19 bhp and 20 - 25 NM torque with our normal map, which we offer on a mobile service, approx £350 inc vat depending on your location.

Remember the quality of the map itself is more important than the absolute quoted bottom line gains ...it is unlikely that an average owner could tell the differennce between a 18 bhp and say a 21bhp gain, with all else being equal, so go with the tuner you feel most comfortable with / nearest to you is my advice :)

    So Evolve it is then!!!!!!

I had the Alpha'N' map put on my car by Sal a couple of months ago.
Have nothing but good things to say about the way it drives now.
