I cant even imagine the pain if that happened! Id say who ever buys these wont just put them on and run them all year. Perfect for a garage queen or shows etc.

You bought a brand new set of oem 19” rims and stripped the lacquer off ??

How could the lacquer have been peeling if never used?

the reason i striped the lacquer of them is as soon as you use them if brand new it does not take long till the lacquer starts to peal of if you get a stone chip on them so i striped them down a mirror polished them as when you do get a mark on them it can be fixed with a bit if wet and dry paper once you have them diamond cut and get a mark , lacquer peal you are ****ed at least mirror polished you can fix it yourself if your wheels are lacquered you will all ways get the lacquer pealing off :)

Oem 19” polished rims in their original finish will last for many years if looked after. (No jet washing).

if you had a brand new set on your car and you got lacquer peal or a mark how wood you fix it that's the reason why i mirror polished mine no lacquer if you get a chip or mark on them you can polish it out how wood you repair lacquer peal or curb mark ?

I see pee wee's point. It's not necessarily "easy" to maintain the OEM finish indefinitely. Even with the utmost care, no jet-washing etc , a stonechip etc could still happen through routine driving etc, causing the lacquer protection to be breached and milking to occur subsequently.

So the idea of mirror polished, unlacquered wheels does appeal to many (myself included) for the ease of repairs should any damage occur.

Although, to strip a brand new factory fresh set of rims (as opposed to a good used, but previously unrefurbished set) is pretty extreme! Fair play to him for his pursuit of perfection though!! :D
