Totally forgot about them; £25 collected, £30 posted - can send pics tomorrow?

The car has a slight crease in the front right inner arch, where the strut brace sits - insurance deemed it a cat b due to new regulations :( w*nkers

I know personally of a case where it’s been done.

You’ll need to know the insurance company that wrote it off, and get an independent assessor to look and decide if it can be repaired at all, which sounds likely if the damage is in the area you say, turrets/chassis legs are usually all available from bmw, but insurers are usually too lazy bother once things get to that stage.

Once armed with this info you may be able to say it’s been wrongly categorised and change attempt to change it to a cat S, which effectively is a C in old money, which can be repaired and used again.

Sadly you’ll be up against an insurance company which has already delt with the car and is finished with is as far at they’re concerned, but it’s with a try. All depends on how special the car is and what it’s worth to you to get back on the road.

Do you have the heat shield the goes between the exhaust centre section and the prop shaft. (Runs from gearbox to diff)

Tbh, I’m gutted with the cat b but given the payout value and what I stand to make on the parts, I’m making more money then if the car was sold working.
