I think I’m coming along to get a noise test done, but not planning on taking part yet.

Well I might do the afternoon session maybe and just pootle round like an old woman. The brake mods won't in installed until next week, and this car had a £15k warranty claim on the brakes in March, so I want to take good care of them.

You should, the new target is a 2:38.

Thanks Derek, I've had it just over a month now. It feels like a large Caterham really, well balanced, forgiving (just as well) and surprisingly agile. I have a few things to do before I try it properly on track for the first time.

97db, which makes me happy. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay for the afternoon session, weather looked good, how was the day for everyone?

I think ill pass static but think I’ll be limited to round 6k-6.5k. revs when cranking it up.

Hopefully I can use all my revs at full throttle, the downshifts in some of the racier modes produce loud crackles and bangs which might be problematic. I must be unique on the scene where I honesty can’t see the attraction of these noises on the overrun.

Day was great, only one stoppage for an unfortunate chap who had complete brake failure going into turn one in a mini. Stayed dry, some nice cars, GT3's, old palmer sport M4's etc...

Managed several 2:47.3's but didn't crack a 2:46. Optimal lap was there but couldn't quite manage it. And I also experienced what i would call my first proper off when dicking about at the end of the day... Take a look and also the best lap of the day:

Hahah good distance into the greenery at the end! Mr Palmer won’t be happy about the tyre marks all over his precious grass.

How have you made it so loud Telsy? I’ve seen loads of F8x cars there without issues.

I don’t know mate, just an Akra Evo, that even with valves closed and unplugged triggers the noise limit on drive by.

    Good lap.

It looks like the cup2 just couldn't handle the drift, you had it all under control and then it snapped, ive rewatched it and I think your still on the power.

Had it with the zestino, going well and then lost grip.

Have they put yellow sausage kerbs on the chicane now :(

Also is that a noise detection point on the left on the back straight?

That spin could have been nasty - seen similar at Bedford where the car then dug in (wet grass) and rolled......

Ta, i found the Cup2's to be a lot less progressive than AD08R's - probably because the overall grip level is higher, when you break traction, it really goes quick... Yes, big curbs there now! and can't confirm on the microphone, i believe it may be however...

Yes for sure, what you can't see in the video is how hard i was gritting my teeth praying not to dig in and roll...
