With the CS sitting in the garage for the foreseeable future, can anyone recommend a trickle charger for the battery to keep it topped up?

Ctek battery charger is spot on. The MXS 5.0 is the one to get.

    I'm using a genius g3500 I think.
Works a treat... And cheaper than ctek one.
They all do the same stuff.... Just make sure it's suitable for lithium battery

As mentioned in the previous post whichever one you choose just make sure it's suitable for Lithium Ion batteries, not the standard acid/AGM chargers. I use a CTEK Lithium XS

I used a Nico on recommendation from on here, worked spot on.
Going to clean the car, cover on and charger soon to.
I got the G7200 (actually have a second one as ordered 2 before going away as thought it wouldn't drive in time - G7500 and a ctek to sell )
They have them now with battery jumpers in them to if that's of use?

Mxs 5.0 isn’t suitable for Lithium’s - I’ve just had to buy another. Either the Lithium XS or BMWs own will do.

Lister BMW are still open via EBay and shipping via DPD. £75 delivered, I ordered Tuesday and it came yesterday.

I have the Noco G7200, not used it on the M4 yet, but it managed to recover the shitty battery on my daily (although it did take 2 attempts before it worked).

Well it seems the M2 comp does not use the lithium ion battery as the M3 M4.
Its an AGM type ,why i don't know  so it seems the c -tek MXS 5.0 was the right one after all (which i cancelled ) for the lithium xs which i have cancelled to:think:

It's no good for the F8x cars, as it doesn't support Lithium batteries.

    Perfect for E46 / E9x though.

I bought the Noco G7200 a couple of weeks ago and I'm glad I did. Not been out for 2 weeks and when I started the car today and got all sorts of low battery warnings. Took the longest way to the supermarket and still got error messages when I killed the engine back at home. Been charging for 7 hours now and back up to 75%. The G7200 is a nice piece of kit, very intuitive to use and gives you good information, by way of the different leds during charging. I'm well impressed with it.

I dont know why you people are having issues with batteries not holding there charge for long. My M4 doesnt get used for several weeks, even months sometimes and has had no issues.
