Thanks man!! It was awesome being surrounded by M Power!
Not mapped, just the standard ecu. Only power mods really are the decats and my custom exhaust, it’s a bit droney but I love the sound of it.
    You enjoy the drive home?

    It certainly went well!
Drive home was fun, when there wasn't any traffic!

We'll have to get something planned for the new year. Maybe sometime in Feb/March when the January madness has calmed down? What does everyone recon?

Book hotel for those dates (booking.com)
    Book ferry (DFDS)
Create Nurburgring account at the Green Hell Portal and add credits (these will be converted into laps on a QR reader)
Make sure your car is insured to drive in Europe
Make sure car is up together and that you have spare fluids etc
Drive to the Ring and enjoy !!

    (simple as that really)

Track insurance would cost you thousands of pounds so most people accept the fact that if you crash it will cost you a lot - that's just how it is.

Some useful info on this these two links

    http://nurburgring.org.uk/

    https://www.bridgetogantry.com/

From Ben Lovejoys site (1st link)
    Car insurance and the Nurburgring
Most people (including me) accept the risk of driving uninsured on the Nurburgring, without fully appreciating how bad the consequences could be if something went wrong. The vast majority of people drive or ride the Ring without incident, and the few that do have an accident usually cause damage only to the track, the cost of which is listed here.
This information is for UK drivers who take their own cars on the Nurburgring for Touristfahrten. Other European drivers should check their insurance cover but the information here is for the "worst case" scenario.
Some of the content is taken from the following sources:
Track Driver magazine article PDF doc (1.2mb)
Andrew Thompson & Co solicitors specialising in motoring offences and related private client matters
Note the difference between Touristfahrten (tourist driving) where the Ring is open to anybody who buys a ticket, and a track day where it is open only to the group that has hired it.

Come along Charlie, the more the merrier!

Nothing much to add in addition to what James has said other than we're getting the 22:00 DFDS Ferry from Dover to Dunkirk on the 12th and the 16:00 DFDS Ferry from Dunkirk to Dover. I have booked the premium lounge and priority boarding along with James. DFDS are currently doing 15% off if you book during January so it's worth booking sooner rather than later.

It's also worth having a look at Booking.com for local hotels in the area during that time, be warned though as TF dates have recently been released so things tend to get booked up quite quickly. I am staying at APEX hotel and James is booked at Hotel am Tiergarten next door. I'm currently booked in a Junior suite at APEX so there is an option to stay with us if you can't find anything.

Yes Apex is the one with Misha

You need to go online and create an account with the Nurburgring portal and add credits (euros) by PayPal or card, these are then turned into laps when you scan the card at the beginning of the lap, (varies depending on day, weekends more expensive than mid week.) just create a link to your desktop on your phone for easy access. So easy to add funds, over the course of a weekend it’s all down to yours how many laps you want to do, this weekend in July I am aiming for about 10 laps.

    Hope that makes sense

Charlie, you're more than welcome to stay with us mate. We can agree financials later on (and maybe off forum!)

As far as I'm aware, the suites can fit two couch-style beds and one separate double bed. But I'll just ring Dyana and confirm. Should be all good though.

    Smg disaster

Somebody must know what this problem is with my smg its driving me up the wall. Normaly happens when it warms up. So it all good with no much of a noise in the gear change when cold but then once its warm and you turn it off when you turn the car back on the yellow cog light appears and when you try put into first or reverse it makes a grinding noise and throws it into neutral. There is a video on youtube of a guy with exact same problem this is the link exact same thing my car is doing. https://youtu.be/inbeV19Qxms

What are you looking to do? Are you looking to rent when you go over? There are lots of people doing ring rental, some are more expensive than others. It's worth having a look around first.

Hotels in the area are actually very well priced considering they are right next to the most famous piece of tarmac on earth.

Other than that you just got your usual day-to-day costs like foood and drink and fuel at the ED Tankstelle which apparently sells more super unleaded than any petrol station in the world.
