I've missed the E46 that I used as my track car since I sold it 18 months ago, but I have now sold the Caterham and am back to having an M3 (as well as the M4 & E28 M5) only this time I've got a V8. With a supercharger. First impressions: rides nicer than the M4 despite being on lower springs and running on Toyo R888r rubber. Sounds glorious as it screams round to 8500rpm and on downshifts (I can't believe I've bought a DCT!), but the interior is definitely not as nice as the M4 and the drivers seat seems to way too high, I'm wondering if the electric seat height adjustment needs adjusting!! Have not driven it properly yet, just a 40 mile motorway drive home so its first proper drive will be next Thursday. To the Nurburgring!
