    Evening guys,

    Anyone tried / running PS4S in 285/35 R19?

Probably a repeat thread but I couldn’t find anything on 285 only 295.

I’m currently running 275 conti 5p which are around 3mm.

Wanted a bit more grip as tbh the M3 grip levels are shocking, was thinking 285 is a good place to start? Thought 295 might rub, aqua plan plus are only MO rated!

    Any input would be great.

    Cheers :)

Nothing wrong with a 285, I’ve run a cup2 in this size. Also ran a 295 and that’s ok too on a 30 profile, standard suspension.

Just getting rid of the contis you’ll see a marked improvement.

I have p4s 285/35/19, happy to recommend. Can’t say there would be much difference between 275/285 to be honest. Defo an improvement on mpss though
Never tried the Conti but have heard they are shyte

I had them in 285/30/20 on my CP and thought they were great. A step up from the PSS. Didn't try them on the front, some feel the side walls are too soft for the front. I never noticed any issues on the rear, only improved wet weather traction

So think I’m definitely going 285 not 275. Apparently 18% more contact patch.

Anyone tried 295? Can only get them in M01 rating though!

Ordered 285. Let’s hope there as good as everyone says, although I don’t want a really good expectation because I could be disappointed :drive1::bugeye:

I still believe the MPSS feels better than MP4S.

Conti 5P I ran on my c63 it was great so surprised not too good on M4.

Yes. As mentioned many times, 275 and 295 f/r are fine. Same aspect. Though you already got some, just get the XL for the rears and you’re fine.

Someone had mentioned how different they were to the MPSS and thought they were being overly dramatic. But yeah...the sidewalls are much softer and it’s noticeable.

I run stock size MP4S on my rear comp wheels, so 285 30 20 and think they are very good. There is not much in it between these and the MPSS in the dry, but there is a noticeable improvement in damp/wet conditions.

I concur with the above, for all weather the PS4’s are the better tyre! I’ll be swapping the rears to PS4’s when they need replacing and mps in the front

I'm going to be be interested to feel what PS4's feel like after killing my Contis on the track yesterday.

I haven't had any problems with the Contis on the road (admittedly better roads than the pothole ravaged things you have in the UK) and they were very predictable on the limit at the track. It was only when I got down to 1mm tread and had rubber worms all over the tread that they went a bit squirrelly.

Anyway off to Euromasters this morning to see if the PS4's have arrived and I'll post an update when they are fitted.
