I sold my F80 M3 only a few months ago and went into a 520d:bh:

Anyway.... even though the 520 is proving to be a fantastic commuter, I am really missing having a car that I really love to cherish and care for. I even send the 520 down to the local hand car wash! something I would never normally do to one of my cars.

I have been looking at all sorts of motors to get as a weekend car and have now narrowed it down and finalised my search down to an E46 M3 CS. Trouble is I am looking for a nice example, that has been owned by an enthusiast like myself.

If anybody has a good condition car and is thinking of selling please let me know. I am a cash buyer and I promise I will look after it.

Anything considered. Manual or SMG. Condition is the most important thing.

    Thanks

    Alex

You're too late - sold mine last month after 9 cherished years of owning, the sale post is prob still archived in here somewhere. Wise choice to go for the CS but don't rush at it, there aren't many to choose from and you could be tempted to compromise. Most have been cherished, but not all. Great that you're open to SMG - I loved mine, but there's a stigma there and hence manuals command a premium. Same for the IB colour - nice but preferred carbon black.

Happy to share experiences I had over the 9 years, what to look out for, history, expected repairs etc. PM me if you want to chat.

Now I'm going to sob that I sold mine....

I’ve just bought my CS back and couldn’t be happier. To be fair the cutter that ended up with it has done all the right things to it including not driving it too much! :)

Buy a csl or a regular m3 , cs is not worth the premium unless you’re after a low mileage manual in which case they are arguably the best of the standard manual e46 m3’s

I'm actually beginning to think that a csl might be the best option. All the e46 values seem to be closing up for equivalent mileage/condition cars.

My perfect car would be a reasonably priced manual CS though but I'm open to everything really. Normal M3, CS or CSL. SMG or manual. It's all going to come down to condition and spec Vs price on any car.

I'm not going to rush. When the right car comes along I'll know it and I'll be ready to pounce, whatever it may be.

Depends on your budget and requirements for a CSL.
