I think so. They were £124k new? I know people who'd have paid that then just to avoid waiting! Every one was sold on preorder.

I remember the hooha when people were saying 'it's just a 3 series' and 'noone will ever pay that'! BMW released a statement saying "don't worry about it...they're all presold...so calm yer tits"...or words to that effect!

Let me put it another way. A relative of mine was invited to buy a Mercedes CLK DTM...F1 pace car at the time. Only special customers of Mercedes were allowed to buy them...at 150k GBP each. He bought TWO. Sold one for 300k and ended up with a free car. He didn't have any problems shifting that at 300k? Both rare, desirable cars...that the average man never had the opportunity to own.

The question is have you ever seen one for sale?

Well i just looked. The original car was £117,630.

There are some dead adverts where the cars were advertised for sale at 90 and 95k respectively, but that was probably shortly after release and prices will certainly have gone up. Excellent review on Pistonheads, and I also found this lovely video (in the link).

I have one. Paid 89k in Feb with 1900 miles

Have replaced wing, front splitter, centre console and door trims for carbon ones, fitted RKP rear carbon diffuser, AIM smarty cam HD with GPS and CAN link. Wheels are now BBS lightweight 18" with dunlop d03g direzza. Brake discs upgraded to Brembo Race with Endless pads.

Full Akra with carbon tips and ESS specific GTS map going on next with special Intrax suspension going on after that.

Car is epic and has covered 3k miles on track since I got it

Worth about 100k Imho

Actually bothered to walk down to the garage and check properly. It's 5700 now after Silverstone the other day. I expect it'll get up to 7000 by feb and think I will do around 6k a year just going to and from tracks. A lot will depend on how much I use the CSL on track.

How does it compare with the Csl on track? Have you got any actual weights of each car?

1450 kgs for the GTS
CSL has GTR bodywork and roll cage and will be weighed soon as the engine is being sorted out. Expect it to be around 1360kgs and 385bhp

CSL has Intrax 4 ways, rose joints, APs, centre locks and massive tyres

Will take both out together next year and back to back them.

Just bought the CSL back after having sold it 7 years ago. Needs some getting but ran it around Silverstone last week and it felt good but it was piss wet with 10 year old wet tyres on it! Felt horribly slow but that's because something was wrong with the engine.

Feel familiar and similar. Duct is a big win on the GTS as you have no torque loss changing gear so faster, and the torque on the GTS with the 4.4 is significant. CSL had no vanos and felt dead below 4k
