No point asking about M2’s on this forum.

The F8X elitists will tear you down, slag your choice, and then get together and all laugh about it. :muttley:

I don’t even own one and I’m bored of it!

    Haha, yep.

I’ve ‘known’ you Stuart on the forums for many years now, and your online persona has changed dramatically last 18 months. Very outspoken, very strong opinions, very OTT. And also act pretty superior these days also.

I decided honesty was the best policy rather than living on cloud 9 dreamworld. We all have our opinions and everyone is different. People sometimes only read the parts they want though in fairness.

    Agreed.

    RS3 will smoke them all

It looks better inside and out IMO, FL noise is debatable but all this aside its the king of the super hot hatch. Not to say the other cars aren't great

Some of us want more that the ability to “smoke” them all.

    Watch the RS3 v M2 video posted recently, I’d have M2 over both A45 and RS3 personally.

I watched the video, then posted it, my comment was tongue in cheek referring to the interior quality comment, that is one area where the M2 could do better and may well be addressed in the forthcoming launch of the CS albeit via the options list!!.

The verdict overall is pleasing but these are actually quite different cars attempting to woo the same customers with differing solutions.

I had a 15 plate A45 that I put around 14k miles on, it had its share of creaks and rattles, as well as a clunky gearbox when selecting drive or reverse. It had a couple of software updates, but it was never properly resolved.

I now have a M2 and the only complaint I have is the seating position is a bit higher than I would like, but this is possibly due to having the optional electric seats and spending time in a 997 Turbo which feels like you're sitting on the road in comparison. The M2 has just had its RIS and I'm loving the engine and DCT now that I can use it properly. The MPE certainly adds to the drama too :)

I cannot say that there's much between the interior of the M2 Vs. the A45, although the seats in the A45 are a step up, the M2 seems to be better put together from a creaks and rattles point of view and the iDrive system is leagues ahead.

I prefer the dash and iDrive in the Beemer, a mate who has the Merc said everything is a bit plasticky and less user-friendly in the Merc.

Seats are the big thing for some people. I've sat in the M seats and although they're much better looking I didn't think they were much more supportive than the m-lite seats. You're definitely not locked in like you would be in a Sportster CS.

Coming from an M135i (pre-LCI2), I actually like the interior of my LCI M2. Like the new swathing CF on the passenger side and the updated tech and dials are great.

I wonder if the leather quality has improved or it's just my 4.5 year old M135i leather has degraded a lot. But the interior certainly feels like an upgrade.

Granted not as good as M3/M4 but certainly happy with mine.

Yes, but they're mostly M4 owners trying to justify spending nearly £70k to get a leather wrapped dashboard. :)

I drove an A45 AMG yesterday and even though I no longer have my M2 consider the M2 to be better in virtually every way. The A45 felt overly light in steering, more false in exhaust note, looked less composed internally and whilst fast I just didn’t connect with it at all. Only plus is if you need 4 doors it is more practical but I’d take a Golf R or S3 over the A45 if I needed 4 doors.

Agree both great cars but m2 newer tech imo
