I haven't got one, but just interested.

What's the difference between the CSL cup Alcons and the regular M3 Alcons? As far as I knew it's just the paint job

I have used AP, K sport and the CSL alcon brakes on my CSL.

    AP was the best set-up

The Alcon set-up IMO needs a different master cylinder, the pedal travel on any Alcon set-up M3 is too much.

Lots of the CSL cup and guys who race v v fast E46 cars, use the AP, I even know 2 guys who went from AP to alcon then back to AP on their race cars.

    The Alcons look better though.

But for road driving the Alcons are 100% fine.
For 95% of track driving they are fine too.

We are currently using the Alcon CSL Cup kit on the E46 racer and it has far too much pedal travel for my old mans liking! Think we are looking at the AP setup for next season to try and match the bite we eventually got on the E36..!

    Another that agrees with me:thumbsup:

Master cyl needs matching to suit or a pedal box suitably sized or jus fit AP kit

Edit to add this is just for serious track/race use.

I posted my fastest lap of Oulton park in my CSL with the Alcon Kit, so they are by no means a bad kit. I just preferred the pedal feel of the AP set-up.

Bit of a thread revival and hopefully you remember, however how did the pedal travel of the Alcons compare to the travel of the standard E46 M3 brake set up?
