    advice please
my m4 2014 is in need of brake fluid change. Local Sytner (SHITNER more like) have qouted me approx £79. is this good? or am i better of getting my own fluid and taking to my local bmw specialist garage? if so which fluid do i need?
    thanks

Interesting, mine’s due in October, £79 seems ok to me though for a dealership

the quote on my m135i was £79 so the usual m tax hasn’t been added

i didn’t overpay as i’m on a service pack but it’s still priced on the invoice

When I had a service pack I was told by one of the advisors that they charge bmw a lower hourly rate than they would if it was just a customer. I seem to recall my big service was about £700 but they said it would be a lot more if I was paying.

i can imagine it would be. means the 5 year service pack is even better value. shame the 3 years isn’t as good
    unless you do high mileage

Reasonable price if it also includes the £19 CBS Standard Scope charge

They will search with a fine toothcomb for anything else that needs doing and may not be needed yet.

Also they may give you a receipt stating 5 things that need attention that when you come to sell the car looks like you were a cheap skate and didnt service it properly. So you wont be able to show that piece of paperwork.

Avoid Shitner at all costs imo

I'm booked into Douglas Park BMW in Glasgow next week and it is 79 quid as well.

Plus 15 quid for the 'courtesy' car...

Added to every bill... probably just to drive it into the workshop and plug it in!

    BMW justify by saying:
'Carried out at every visit including diagnostic interrogation, check indicator and warning lights on instrument cluster and reset CBS display'
'Check and verify any control messages'
