Am I reading that right? It lost £82k in 6 months!? Are maclarens like BMWs i.e. no one ever pays retail price or is that genuine depreciation.

Yes lost £82 in 6 months but should only loose another £45 in e next 4 years as that’s a guaranteed but you never know it’s limited run car so could hold value . The 570S spiders have actually gone up in the last 6 months

    sure will ,...
seems getting finance on these cars is rather difficult never had any problems with any car in the past always finance them for years and years .even on a good income they don’t seem to want to lend I’ve ended applying with bmw financial services as I’ve had 2 previous BMW’s with them and the one I have now they managed get the payments for the lt to £713 pm If they say no stuff it I’m keeping the m4 and I’m deleting autotrader from my phone for good

It may just be the current economic uncertainty and lenders tightening criteria.
You should try a super car finance specialist.

I did magnatude they did a off the wall check and said I probably would be passed As the risk involved with lending 100k so didn’t take it any further with them . I have no other debt
And never missed a payment in my life . Oh well if they don’t won’t the 16k interest like I said bmw say no I’m keeping the m4
I could you buy the lt outright with no finance but I would be penniless

If you don’t mind me asking what are details of your potential deal?

gfv’s and % rates etc? don’t answer if too Perosnal. Just curious as always like to see what high end cars actually cost. My man maths usually makes them work out fairly cheap but not got the balls to go full blown beast mode like yourself

    my mans maths exacty

    so car
    £145 k 600lt spider
    £45 k deposit
    £100 finance
    £713.05 pm X36 months 5.6%
    £91500 ballon Guaranteed future
But my man maths say you never pay the ballon anyway you just hand them in or px
    I think a £25 k deposit was £1100 pm
See the monthly’s are easy I have the deposit so I do t see a problem lending in them lending

Thanks for sharing that. I guess it all depends on what they actually give you come end of term or if you plan to sell it elsewhere what’s achievable.

do you have a guesstimate as to the above (assuming you’re not planning on just handing it back at the end for the 91.5k?)

well at 3.5 years old with less than 15k on the clock at £91500 is going be cheaper than a new m4 I know which one is sooner have these could steady out value wise as they limited run car looking at a 3 year old 570 spider they fetching £110 k so the lt at the same age as got to be worth more than that if I get it I’d like to keep it but the man maths again you could be in it interest free for 3 years if prices go to plan and steady out
    Oh also insurance is
    £634 that’s my best quote
    Service is £900 1st year
£1400 second year than back to £900 and so on At main dealer
Which I think isn’t bad warranty for up to 3 years then £3k after that

That works out £1963 a month over 3 years. I wouldn’t say that’s the same as an M3/M4. Very nice car though....

I wouldn’t view this as a “sad moment” I’d be absolutely buzzing about getting shot of the M4 for the McLaren! Nothing against the M4 as it’s stunning but this is like breaking up with the beautiful girl next door and jumping straight into bed with peak Megan Fox! Well played sir!
