I’ve been close to pulling the trigger on this setup. They weigh quite a bit more than the normal M4 brakes, is it noticeable?

2.5kg extra each side on the rear and 5.2kg extra each side on the rear. I've only driven on the road so far with 20" 666M not my 763M as pictured but it doesn't feel noticeable so far. If running a 19"/20" 763M set up these are lighter than 666M so the trade off in unsprung weight is reduced.

I've also been looking into this and got a quote from Cotswolds just before Christmas and the price had gone up significantly since another member got a quote in Aug 19.
I'd really be interested to see what price BMR come up with.

To supply the brake kit only would be £4005.01 inc vat.

If you wanted it fitted the same as mine with HEL braided lines and ATE type 200 brake fluid it would be £4451.15 inc, parts labour and VAT

Ive not bedded mine in yet but I have driven several M2C with this set up and there is an improvement over the standard brakes.

Hi BMR, when you fitted the rear guards did you modify them slightly (thin vertical edge cutoff) or did you strip down the hub?

    Thanks

I cut the thin metal strip as there is the park brake shoe mounting ring that bolts over the front of the rear guard.

I was looking into this and chatting with an M technician up here who said it should be fine without the thin strip as plenty of rigidity without it (common to trim them but means no issue with bearings that way), plus its solidly made and mounted regardless. Sorely tempted by this mod. Looks fantastic. :shades:

@BMR, noticed it speaks about needing a DCT update to reflect the larger brakes. Did you do this on yours? :shades:

DSC not DCT. I have yet to do it and still haven't even bedded the brakes in yet!

Got them fitted and ran out of time to code then drove it 5 miles home and its sat in my garage since waiting for some drier non salted roads to materialise.

Sorry yes DSC I had a few rums in last night when typing that lol.

Do you happen to know if its a BMW official update that they are allowed to do on the M3/4 platform? I only ask as I will have to ask them about it too, but worried they tell me its an M2 DSC update. Thanks

Good question. You’d think any coding would void warranty though.

Would have thought it's the BCCB setting they apply as the discs are the same size if I'm not mistaken
