2.5 rear & primary cat gutted dB reading

    currently just got the 2.5 rear exhaust mod on my e92 but fancying gutting the primary cat to allow full potential from a remap.
    Just a little worried it’ll be too noisy for track days, done some YouTubing but really doesn’t give much of an incite. Can anyone comment if it’s a deffo no go or on the limits. Or an actual dB reading at what rpm..

    Obviously the little white lie of what the red line is on the pit lane might help :)

    Silver grey / Recaro SPG
    Just with a 2.5 mod you will fail at places like bedford for sure. with a primary decat/gut you’ll probably fail at most places I would have thought.

    I have this exact set up and tested at 105db static on the nose at Brands Hatch. Pretty sure I would have failed a drive by (wasn't driving that day)

    So I change to a stock box, still with primary decat for trackdays and measure 98-99 dB static at Brands and Snett.
