Anyone had a 1 Series ?. My son has started to play academy football and all the driving to training and games is costing a fortune in the M3 so considering a cheap little runner as a 2nd car. Looking at these they seem to give pretty good MPG. Anyone have experiance ?

Or perhaps advise on a cheap car with decent MPG but comfortable enough for a 6ft 3 chap.

I had a great 123d until some idiot in a vw van wrote it off

Brilliant engines, bmw did the timing chain as part of a recall

I bought it with 28k and did just over 100,000 Miles, only thing went wrong was steering angle sensor and bmw paid 1/2

I’ve got a 125d now with the 8 speed auto - the next level !!

Avoid. Unless the timing chain has been done, AFAIK BMW didn't do a recall or at least not for all the cars
