Cool Performance BMW BBK fitting kit GROUP BUY No.8

**August 2018 - NEW BATCH IN STOCK**

As per a previous thread:HERE discussing BBK options for the e46 M3 I have looked into having some brackets professionally made so that e46 M3 owners can fit the front BMW Performance Brembo 6 pot calipers to their cars.

I recently bought a fitting kit from Germany for my car (I already had the calipers) but I was not happy with the fit so looked into a proper alternative. More info HERE It cost me 230 to what amounted to a few washers, some bolts, and a couple of rubber hoses. Fit was awful hence me looking to have something proper made up and at better value too.

The brackets for this kit are made by an engineering firm that a friend of mine owns and runs. Their larger clients include many companies in the aerospace industry where they make parts for aeroplanes as well as F1 teams, MotoGP teams and many components on the Thrust SSC land speed record car were also made by them so you can be assured of a quality part. They do not deal with the general public but as I know the director they are willing to make another batch for us

They will be making the brackets for the calipers and I have negotiated with another company (who deal with Goodridge) to make up the braided lines (as you will need longer front brake hoses to use these calipers)

Brackets are made from aluminium, previous group buy brackets were made of steel. This has resulted in a slight increase in price but the reduction in weight is more than worth the addtional outlay (steel brackets weigh 3kgs whereas the aluminium ones weigh less than 1kg)

This kit will enable you to fit BMW Performance Brembo 6 pot calipers to your e46 M3.

What is included in the kit?
  1. Custom CNC machined LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINIUM fitting brackets
  2. High Tensile bolts & washers to accommodate the custom brackets (you can use your std OEM caliper bolts if you prefer)
  3. Custom length braided hose kit (includes all 4 hoses with longer fronts and rear)
OR just a pair of custom length braided hose for the front (if you already have braided hoses on your car)

What is NOT included that you will need (not part of the group buy)
  • BMW Performance Calipers & Pads
  • BMW CSL brake discs - ask your dealer nicely and you should get a discount on the standard price, or find yourself some OEM quality ATE items (PM forum member Subzero269 for a price for ATEs)
  • BMW brake pad sensor for use on the front with BMWP calipers as the std item is too short so instead you can use the e39 brake pad sensor part number 34352229018

Cost inc delivery

270 for aluminium brackets, bolts and full set of braided hoses delivered

or

240 for aluminium brackets, bolts and front braided hoses delivered

PAYMENT DETAILS

Please PM for payment info and include the following in your message:

  • Forum username
  • Full name
  • Delivery address
  • Mobile number
  • email address

When brackets are in stock lead time is 3 - 4 weeks as hoses are made to order. If you order when brackets aren't in stock then be prepared to wait up to 2 months for a set. I will keep the top of this post updated with current stock status for the group buy.

DISCS, PADS AND CALIPERS

I no longer supply these as it's too time consuming for me. You can get the callipers for around 650 or less from your BMW dealers, pads are a matter of preference but you can get a selection of pads to fit a 135i and the discs again you can purchase from EuroCarParts, BMW or anywhere that stocks ATE discs.

Alternatively for the discs fellow cutter Subzero269 can get ATE CSL discs for a good price.

Here are some pics:

Standard brackets vs custom ones:

Good on you mate for starting this, i think you will find that brand new calipers will cost about 650-700 from bmw dealer.. This price was for the phoenix yellow ones,This is what they quoted me about six months ago..
Also you can just use the original hoses on rear. No need to change anything at the rear. So you will only need two front hoses, one for each side. This is my opinion anyway..

Finally! A UK supplier, and one for a kit that fits!

Great price too Dino. Brilliant value. Well done getting this sorted.

Guys, after SpeedReligion went out of business they has been no UK supplier of a bracket that will allow you to run these excellent quality OEM/Brembo 6-pot big brakes. Snap this opportunity up as this will be a one-off run and there are no other options at present (unless you fancy the German kit wich is overpriced and doesn't even fit properly).

RAW4N - The calipers individually are 401 EACH (with discount) from dealers like Cotswold or Stealer on here, same price as BMMiniParts individually. However I believe you can get a kit from BM MiniParts that include CSL discs for a good price.

I never do things by halves It's down to personal preference hence I've included the option for a full kit of hoses or just the fronts

As for the calipers yes six months ago they were much cheaper and even my dealer mentioned that the price has shot up massively.

BMWMini parts seems a good price so if anyone wants them new they know where to get them

I was looking at the Boxster S brakes for the rear. I don't think the PBMW ones fit with at all

FFS im so tempted now. Just not sure on the caliper style (yes im gay lol).

Do they do the pbmw calipers in red or black?

Put me down for a front setup. As ive got discs, so may as well get some calipers to go with them

And to confirm, now these fit like Brembos should fit. So pad covers the whole disc, and does not miss bits off?

Really like the look of this setup. what do any users of this setup think to it over OEM? Is it a good fast road and possible occasional track option ?

as above, i run this setup, these are a lot better than oem standard set up..very sharp and responsive,no fade whatsoever, but must confess i have never had my car on the track..
as long as you use custom well fitting brackets they work perfect.my brackets wer from the original manufacturer...speed religion..
highly recommend if you want a genuine bmw setup.

The fronts are the same, just rumours are that the pistons are not as strong as the pbmw ones, rear ones don't fit.

Those fronts are not the same as the ones in the above pic though. Its just the end bits i dont like. Could even live with the PY colour. They just look a bit strange.

I know what you mean about the end bits but you know once you get them on the car they look fantastic.

I get a lot of comments about mine and catch a lot of people in other cars looking admiring at them too

Are these PBMW calipers in between OEM and AP's ?I've got a CS so already have CSL front discs. I was hoping to eventually go for AP's on the front, but they're olds of cash.
How do these compare?
Cheers
