Default Sat navscreen replacement

Can anyone point me in the right direction to replace the screen on my oem satnav.
Have some lines appeared and its starting to flicker.
Wantec to keep the original unit rather than replace with an aftermarket.

The screens can be bought for around £80, depends how confident you are about fitting it yourself?

Iíve had the quote from Baris for this but to be honest Iím completely torn between sticking with oem or switching to a modern head unit. My daily is an A5 Sportback and love that I can shout whatever music I want through Siri and it just happens with no drama. Iíll prob still get a screen replacement in case I sell on but tbh itís such old tech now

Yea you can't compare it to a modern unit, but I much prefer the OEM look over an aftermarket unit. I'm tempted to change the screen myself. I've changed enough phone screens how hard can it be

ive found the replacement screens on aliexpress for £58. looked at the teardowns and it looks doable but a faff. but i do like the look of the oem nav.

i then looked at the various car play units which for usability look great if a little too modern looking. the only one that fits the bill without the heater duct cutting is the alpine (and older parrot) but 800 quid plus cables and a sunday afternoon i decided against.

bought a oem cd nav headunit off a fellow cutter whod installed a eonon (which he thinks is great by the way) 15 minute install on saturday aft.

it worked out much cheaper than having mine repaired as i got the cd nav for a very good price

Dead easy to do your self. No special tools required either. Use to charge £20 as it's literally 10-15min job .

My screen had bad scratches in it so I bought a replacement screen from fiesta tech I think. About hundred quid. Fitted it myself but managed to damage the volume adjustment wheel electronics. So I had to buy a faulty headunit off ebay to steal the volume bit off.
Long story short I have a a spare headunit that was only faulty because of a cracked face plate. And now missing volume adjuster. But the screen was fully working without any pixel issues if you are interested. You could practice taking it apart before your own and swap the screens.
! £30 PLUS POSTAGE

20 to 30 min job. Don't pay silly money for someone to do it.
