Question What is the Motorbike equivalent of an M3?

I dont mean like for like, I mean reputation for reputation. I know an M3 would only ever see the rear tyre of a power bike in a race.

But if you were to get a bike that oozed class, power and presence; like our M3 what would it be? The kind of bike when you saw it on the road you know it was something special; again like the status our M3 has.

No chance!! Ducati Panigali R is like the equivalent of a Lamborghini Aventador. (Superbike - Supercar)

M3 equivalent would be more something like the following:

- Honda CBR600RR
- Yamaha R6
- Kawasaki ZX6-R and the like

These bikes command a lot of respect and are classified as Supersports. So just like our M3's, high performance cars, but not quite Supercars. These Supersports bikes are quick enough to destroy most Supercars

I'd say that's more like a Ferrari.

M3 is more like an R1. Been around for years and improved at every opportunity. Very similar status.

Hard to compare with a BMW M3 - which kind of strikes that balance between everyday hero and respected sport car.

As such an everyday bike that has that kudos is probably their own S100RR. Absolute weapon, BMW build, proven record in racing. Plus crucially, not a Jap bike.

I would say The Ducati Panigale 1199 Tricolour and Augusta M4 are the coolest sports bikes you could own. The styling is dripping in cool and class, very Italian, almost Ferrari like levels of cool. You'll get looks everywhere on these machines.

Panigale S Tricolour

Any 1000cc Sportsbike is classified as a Superbike. (Think of you supercar equivalents, Ferrari, Lambos, GTRs, Veyron's etc)

M3 is not a Supercar, so the M3 equivalents would be your Supersports bikes in my honest opinion (Sports 600cc's and 750s etc..). The M3, RS4, C63 type ranges... This is how I think of it.

Love Ducs, especially any of the recent Panigales but they're the pinacle of Ducati and sports bikes. Maybe you could compare them to a CSL or the new GTS, but to a cooking model M3 or M4? No way. It's not fair on the cars.

The 600cc bikes would be more in keeping with an M3/M4; not the most power, but a great focus on handling and balance. And continuing on, a well-ridden 600 will be far quicker than a poorly-ridden Litre bike, in much the same way a well-driven M3 would hose many badly-driven supposedly faster cars.

Are these big bikes designed for taller men? I'm at not 1.65m so need a smaller framed one. I'm not sure my feet will reach the floor when perched on one of those big ones.
