I'm a structural engineer, so if you need any checks on panel sizes, let me know. Single skin block walls are not especially good at standing up to storm wind loads when designed. So a 10m long wall would expect to need wind posts, or piers, or returning internal walls to give it enough strength/stiffness not to blow over in a storm. Also detailing can be important, wall ties to your stone and lateral restraint straps to gables, holding down straps to the roof.

You may have a set of drawings and an engineered design in which case I'm waffling for no reason, but if not I'm happy to provide unofficial advice!
Yep, this has been done through planning permission with a (very expensive!) structural drawing.

Block walls (with pillars) timber trusses and a tin roof. Theres also a 780kg piece of steel going across the middle!

Plus the visible sides of the new building will be clad in stone anyway, and not built completely randomly out of all sorts of crap.

I renovate things and make them better, not worse.

Trust me im a doctor...

Thanks pal, I fitted those myself earlier in the summer, only had the house a few months, trying to get it finished for Christmas here with the family (from round the world...)

Durisol is a brilliant product if anyone unskilled wants to do a diy garage.

A trained chimp could build with it.

Holy **** I'm envious. This is exactly what I want to do when we move back to the UK but to be honest where we live in the midlands it's going to be years before we could afford this.

Will follow with interest, I'd love a ramp

I built my garage last year, 6 months of upheaval. But it was worth it. Looking forward to seeing your end results.
