Default GT2 Sold on Pistonheads

That did not hang about.
Any ideas what it sold for in the end?
Looks like he has a few people interested in buying them

Very nice. I personally think that is a great buy. I have seen two with lower miles, one with 22k which went to Hong Kong and one with something like 7000 miles.

Lovely motor

7000 miles!!!! Criminal!!!

She’s a beauty to be fair. Previous owner paid £8k five years ago and hasn’t driven a mile, nice buy for him and to be fair I’m happy for the chap, really nice guy and he made a shrewd purchase!

The condition is excellent considering, needs new suspension as it’s tired and a diff seal replacing and the bonnet needs painting but apart from that

Won’t be for sale again as it’s getting saved for my little lad when he comes of age (20 years to go!) or when I’m no longer here as something to leave him. :-)

Wow, that is a nice buy, that was a better buy than mine!

When getting the diff seal sorted, you might as well put new rear brake pipes on as it has to all come out to do the diff seal. I recently did mine which was leaking.

How do you plan on spraying the bonnet? complete front end and blend it up the doors? I need paintwork on mine but scared as the colour is a nightmare to match and I have not found a decent bodyshop in my area yet.

Nice thought for your nipper, I keep telling mine the money will be theirs one day, maybe not the car ha

As for paint well the bonnet has been done before and I've got skylights in my garage and annoyingly where the car sleeps the light hits the bonnet and the passenger wing and the colour looks a million miles different then. Not too bad in full daylight but just in this setting it really shows up. The paint has shrunk on the bonnet too.

I was planning on getting the whole car resprayed but got quoted nearly £8k by ML so I might change my mind on that! Apparently dipping it would have been loads more!

The paint on the car is very good to be fair its just the colour difference on the bonnet, new paint vs 19 year old paint isn't ever going to match really it is. Might just do the whole front end but I'll leave it whilst I add a few thousand miles to it before I respray her and put her to bed for my little man

Sounds good.

Mine is a bit like that, bonnet and wings. It might just be the angle of the wings in the light, mine looks fine out in the sun the same as yours.

Would love to see some photos if you get a chance. You have an impressive garage and one that will make you some serious money in time

Overall in life I’ll still be down scary figures on cars! Blew some big money when I was in my 20s.

My M4CS has haemorrhaged cash something rotten in just 6 weeks, it’s going to be a big pill to swallow there. But such is life, work hard play hard.

It is ironic though how the cars which I could make some money on I just do not have any inclination to sell at all. Genuinely love the E36 and the CSL (even tho it’s not arrived yet). Really want my little lad to love them too hence keeping them for him to grow up around. Debating buying that Phoenix Yellow E46 from Hexagon but I think they are dreaming with their price....surely!?

Will get some pics of the E36 when it’s back, it’s currently having the suspension changed and a service at my local trusted specialist.

M4KEV, I've also got one of these. I'd be seriously interested in roughly what it owed you after the suspension refresh and paint has been done (PM would be fine if you possibly would part with the info). I ask because although I love my car, I hardly use it and might be persuaded to part with it for the right price.

Looking forward to the pics

I agree on not wanting to sell them. I prefer cleaning and looking at it if I am honest.

I have just renewed my insurance and uped the agreed value.

If anyone feels like posting photos I am always happy to dribble over these cars

Well done M3 Kev.

Wow, these have really rocketed over last few years so what on earth are the original GT's worth now (LHD ones) ??

Hindsight is wonderful. I got 10k for mine in Jan 2015, having paid £5k in June 2011. Granted, it would've been over 100k and did have the HPI marker against it, but one has to wonder what I could get for it if I put it up for sale now, if I still had it.

Lots of ifs there!

I have thought hard about selling mine recently but know I would kick myself in a few years time if I did.

Im shocked at the prices of e36 M3's but i did always know they would gain value. Christ i remember buying them for £2.5k! Obviously not the GT's of course although i did purchase my BRG GT for £360 back in 2010!

I be cautious to say all Imola Individuals are worth this as the buyer of this car is a big money spender with a good taste for BMWs. How many more big spenders with good taste for BMWs are out there is the question and would spend £40k ball mark on E36 M3 ?
