Default Mpe

Picked up my m2 roughly 3 weeks ago, I spent 2 weeks looking for a reasonabley priced used exhaust. I am now glad I never managed to find one.
I spoke to Phil at Cotswolds on Tuesday. On Wednesday afternoon MPE and carbon diffuser were delivered. Delivery was free and the price of items was very reasonable all thanks to Phil.
I spend Wednesday afternoon showing my kids and mrs my chunks of titanium and carbon. Luckily I had new pants for my birthday the previous week.
I rang my mate Stu to tell him the eagle had landed, he was almost as excited as me, then he ruined my life and told me he was in London and not back till Thursday evening. So it was going to be a long wait till Friday to fit.
Stu came round this morning with his more than usual fastidious, methodical head on. Me, I am the complete opposite I want the same end result but done at 100 mph with hammers and grinders my two favourite tools. Ripping open boxes and discarding instructions I was soon demoted to chief passer.
Pass me this pass me that lol.
Stu was very impressed with how it all went together everything is made so well it just goes together so easily. Precision, not a word that usually associates its self with me but I canít stress enough the quality of these items.
Sound is fantastic. When I took my mrs to work tonight I went passed stus house by time I got to hospital where she works I got text ď exsotic no other word for itĒ very happy.

Now then temporarily we had to put the stupid red button through the rear seat where I can reach if from drivers seat, and Bluetooth control in cup holder. My question is how do you do away or bypass stupid red button.
Cheers Daz..

Not sure if this is true but you might have got in just in time, the current MPE might have ceased production due to the dreaded emissions laws.

Thatís minus carbon tips, check eBay they can be had for less than that with the carbon tips. Tony Aitken at Douglas park Giffnock for example.

That should include the carbon tips at that price, I'm sure it does.

I paid £2190 fitted a couple of months back (not at Cotswolds but they were very close pricewise)

Considerably cheaper here with carbon tips

http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=196751

So what exactly is the difference between the 'new' & 'old' version?

There is absolutely zero difference between the two MPE models. The MPE was taken off the market for approx 3 months back in early/mid 2017 for homologation purposes of the much talked about "red button". I visited the manufacturer of the MPE based in UK and had it all from the horses mouth. There was zero design change, there is and will always be drone - as its something BMW M were willing to accept as a side effect of something else they were/did achieve from the design of the exhaust. Drone does not fade with time, its inherent in its design.
I have MPE paired with Fabspeed DP and it sounds marvellous - its in "exotic as you like" category!! Pull up behind another car, drop a gear and you're guaranteed to spot the driver in front checking out his rear view mirror.

There is a difference as the latest version is a slide on single clamp vs a meet in the middle double bolt clamp which was causing exhausts to sag, rattles, the clamp coming loose etc.

Itís red arch engineering who manufacture the exhaust
