Default E46 Very good rear cards or card surrounds in black from an M3

CLOSED - I described the wrong bit

Hi Everyone,

I have an annoying little bit of wear right on the corner of the rear cards where some numpty has scaped them getting into and out of the car.

Does anyone have black cards for a coupe/ convertible that are perfect or close to? I don't even need the leather inserts as mine are perfect so if you have done a two tone creation maybe you can help if you have the black "outer" part of the card.

If you do then please PM me as they are annoying me.

Thanks,

David

Coupe/convertible?

They are different!

That's the same as my convertible has?

It's the bit that sits above that which I am looking for so sorry, my description is misleading.

I'll re-list my request.

Haven’t finished posting, sorry my pc died and I am now writing from my phone.

That’s the leather from the convertible.

When you buy a cab interior, that’s what you get.

The coupe is totally different and the insertbis not sold separately usually.

The plastic on the convertible sculpts round to accommodate the mechanism and the rear seat is definitely only wide enough for two.

The coupe is a five seater.

As a result the coupe black plastic sections do not widen towards the rear of the car.

Thanks - makes perfect sense!

I think I was talking about the wrong bit anyway; its the top bit that goes above that leather bit; a lot of them seem to suffer from a scuff on the corner. My OCD (when it comes to my cars) is making me want to get ones without the scuffs.

Cheers,

David

Just seen the other picture - wow! That is a big difference.

Cheers,

The coupe door card I’ve shown is a bad representation as it’s actually a rear airbag model but you can see from the speaker location they are very different. The armrests are incompatible too.

You could try ordering new from BMW, they might be surprisingly reasonable.

Totally get where you are coming from in the scuffing, I’m exactly the same.

I’m replacing all the plastic in my car bit by bit until it’s all like new.

Thanks

It's a slippery slope!

I've done all the centre console and inserts/ trims plus seat backs, all interior trim pieces, gear shift and wheel so now I'm picking off some of the slightly less annoying stuff. I think someone carried something big on the back seat and it rubbed on several bits of the trims so I'm targeting those now.

My problem is that I have children who don's seem to care for the back of the car the way I would like them to!

Cheers,

David

My children don’t go in the BMW.

I’m just about to replace the scuttle panel around the windscreen wipers, should make a huge difference to the outside and only £40 or so.

Done that one. ;-) Makes a massive difference IMHO. Possibly one of the best value changes you can do.

I've done all badges, headlight lenses, indicators (still need to do side indicators), newer grills (will get new ones when I do new wings and paint bonnet.

Another big difference is repainting the front bumper. Takes years off of look of the car. That and repainting the bubbly triangular mirror holders. ;-)

Next up is a repaint or replace of the wiper arms and new wheel nuts.

Front and rear bumpers repainted recently already. Side indicators are next.

The scuttle panel makes so much difference.

I'm going to practice paint correction on my rear bumper where I have a couple of scuffs. If it goes horribly then I can get it resprayed... ;-)
