Default Battery Drain

Hi,

Hope you might be able to help. My BM54 seems to have developed a parasitic battery drain of about 0.4amps....driving me mad as its draining the battery overnight.

Would your stage 2 upgrade / fix cure this or is it not amplifier related?

Thanks in advance.

I’m interested in any reply on this! I’ve had a battery drain for the last year and nothing has fixed it so far (done new battery, FSR etc).

Finally pulled out the fuse for the amp etc and looks like that has sorted it or at least narrowed the problem down to whatever runs of fuse 41 in the E46 M3 with HK.

So if that means the amp is likely the culprit what do you recommend??

Getting the stage 1/2 will resolve battery draining issues. But please first check to be sure. To do this, unplug the Bm54 and wait for the Navigation unit to power down. Take 5-10 mins.

The Nav stays on, if a unit is staying on and that effectively drains the battery.

I have had quite a few Bm54’s come in for battery drainage.

Hiya and thanks for coming back to me.

Just so I’m clear, to test the BM54

- Open the car (presumably boots up the Nav)
- Remove the side carpet and then disconnect the connectors onto the BM54 (I had a look at the BM54 Carphonics site)
- Check for the Nav head unit to power down (the red light to go out?)
- If the Nav doesnt power down then I have a problem with the BM54?

Thanks
Al

If the Navigation is still on, then itís not your Bm54, because you just disconnected it.

Thatís what I thought!

Ok so disconnect the BM54 and put the fuse I removed back in and see if the power drain goes away.

Ok

I missed the offer you were doing but what is the cost of the stage 2 and digital TV update plz including Bluetooth streaming?

Thanks
Al

The costs are as follows.

Stage 2 amp upgrade - £149.99
Bluetooth music streaming - £60
Stage 2 Digital tv - £339.99

Total comes to £549.98. I can reduce that to £449.99.
