I was under the impression it took BMW a few days to cobble together the car. I guess I could ask when it's scheduled for?

Where are you getting this info from? Is there a complete list of revisions I can take a peek at pls...

I ordered a car last weekend and the salesman let me take a look at the list of updates. He couldn't let me have a copy however. The iDrive touchscreen and handbrake gaiter were the only two changes listed for the M4. The M3 may be different but as I was only interested in the M4 I didn't think to ask. FWIW there's also supposed to be a software update for the suspension from week 27 onwards and this is alluded to in the EVO article. The salesman said he'd also heard this but couldn't confirm as he had no official documentation to refer to.

Thanks Tinpot...just spoke to the BMW "stealers" and they have confirmed that my order is scheduled for build week 31.

It looks like I will get the updates...and unfortunately the vinyl handbrake gaiter as well.

I wonder how much BMW are going to save by not having a leather gaiter in the F8x cars!

Cheap ****s.

I had a four hour drive on Saturday and not once did I feel the need for touch screen. I don't think I'll bother retrofitting it but id6 is nice.

It's more the iDrive 6 rather than the touchscreen that I'm bothered about.

That's week 31st July to 6th August. Will you take it in August or wait for 1st Sept?

I placed the order in April and asked for it to be built so it could be registered in Sept.

I guess the plus side is I get the small revisions expected in July.

Yeah, can't say I'm bothered about it. I was more interested in the suspension software, which led to the conversation about the changes.

The current issue of EVO has an article on the upcoming M4CS. They loved the suspension setup and state that there are no mechanical changes to the suspension i.e. dampers, springs, sway bars etc. which are exactly the same as the MY '18 Competition Pack cars, but a lot of work went into the suspension programming. I'm hoping that the same suspension programming gets carried into the Week 27 onwards CP cars.

That sort of news makes me a very happy man waiting for his M3 to arrive...

So when does my18 start? I'd have thought when they changed the lights and offered black 666M wheels?

I thought July was when the US cars got that change.

Not sure as Europe doesn't really work on model years. It tends to be a US thing but as EVO quoted model year '18 (September is usually when the US model year starts, more or less ) I'm guessing that it coincides with the week 27 start of production date for the other changes.

My M2 has touchscreen. I was adamant no-one was even going to touch my screen.

Within 2 miles Mrs Deadeye pointed to the screen and said "what's that orange car sign" and touched the screen!.

So I had a play and it's quite cool although you wouldn't replace the use of the iDrive.

You can pinch the map to zoom in and out and you can move the map around while zoomed in to find where you are going or might want to be.
