Car: BMW 1M
Default Valencia Orange 1M

Hello,

I'm new to the forum despite being a lurker for a long time.
I love the 1M, I've driven 7000 miles in it since buying it and I've loved every minute.....I don't think I'll ever buy a more exciting car to drive.

It's my first ever BMW, a friend of mine bought a 1M and raved about it so much I ended up getting one as well and I'm glad I did.

Here are a couple of pics:

I know they are not everyone's cup of tea and some would say they are ugly, but personally I think the 1M looks great.

They are not ugly although i'm in the camp of thinking they don't look as good as say a nice e46... (yours looks a very nice example btw)...

However I do respect them and understand what they are and obviously some people have made money on them so what's not to like ?

However its a bold statement to say you wont EVER buy a more exciting car to drive, (unless of course you never buy another car again!!) think I would be pretty surprised if you couldn't easily do that now and anytime in the future....

Maybe I was just exaggerating slightly for emphasis- I'm sure there are more exciting cars for handling like Caterhams etc or very expensive super cars -but at about 40,000 with 4 seats and everyday useability I'm unlikely to get a car which is such fun to drive from A to B.

Nice plate.

Sometimes the 1M can look a bit noddy in pictures but in the flesh they look very nice, menacing and the wide arches look the part.

Just like the Interlagos Blue is a winner on the CS, The VO is a great bold colour on the 1M and should demand a better premium.

I think Valencia Orange looks a bit chav and boy racer - I love it !
When scouring the classifieds for a 1M I recall there were always
considerably more black or white cars available which I thought told a story-
and along with the fact VO was the launch colour-- orange it had to be.....

Lovely looking car, caught sight of one in VO last weekend, just outside Aberdeen. Obviously an enthusiast, noted the alloys had zero kerb rash...

Great car, agreed... don't sell it.
I sill think the 1M should have been the M3 of its generation, and now the M2 the 3 of this generation, forget the 4... the E9x/F8x series are barge like 6 series sized cars really. But then I come from the old days when the 3 series was small and the 6 big ;-)
The 1M also looks like an M car, pumped up version of the original... like it should be. A lot of presence for a small car.
Unfortunately the 1M was well out of my price range (plus I love a V8).

Congratulations on getting one and using it. They are so much fun to drive; proper feel and they can switch from usable to lunatic in an instant.

I have a little euro trip coming up next week, cannot wait
