Picked up my car today from Litchfield, who have fitted the coilovers. Ended up being a bit traumatic - needed more bits than I realised which were hard to source (anti roll bar drop links) - had some help from a forum member on that too so thank you mate (you know who you are!) Then when alignment was done they found the tie rod and rack ends were seized so needed replacing, and turns out my front brake pads were running low so I had those too. Needless to say ended up with a much bigger bill than I had originally expected, but at least my baby must be in even better shape now Oh and it looked very different when they brought it around the corner for me to see...

I have to say the guys there were brilliant - they calmed me down when I was upset and worrying for England that my car would be in bits forever, and stuck at it for a few days instead of the planned day, letting me keep their little Yaris in the meantime. They were all very nice when I went to pick it up today, a few M3 owner/fans there amongst all the GTR's, and they didn't even say they'll be blocking my number so I can't get in touch again

Anyway, here's a couple of quick pics - I've been having a very shortened quick clean in advance of Gaydon before the rain...

Thank you very much
Well, I learnt very early on when I joined this forum; the first meet I went to, I was checked for centre caps aligning with the little ///M badges - I don't think I completely passed the test back then
I am liking the new silver bolts - my originals were a bit rusty looking - that's why I did the pic

Oh wow thank you that's quite a compliment, given the fab condition of your M
Sorry, I put it in the pic section at the start, as I didn't know if it would count as a member's build thread
Thank you, it is a bit long, and you'll see there's lots of stick if you go all through it... although there are nice comments too

Thank you I did have them re-polished again this spring. I've probably spent enough on these wheels now to have bought another M3...

I was back at Litchfield today. The rear was rubbing the tyres, you couldn't get your fingers in between the wheel arches and tyres, and there were little balls of rubber in the wheel arches It turns out the rears had dropped over half an inch (fronts were as originally set), so they've raised it back up to how it was set up the other day

My baby had dropped again a bit over the last two days, so I've been back to Litchfield today; they've put the rears back up a bit higher than before just in case it sinks again, although they didn't think it would now

Thank you (again!)
I think "sad" is what most think but I enjoy it more than any other car I've had, so I do pamper him rather a lot
