Default Rejected warranty for mpe because of remap

So appears my old car has not sold and just got a few shirty texts saying that they refused the warranty on the mpe due to it being remapped - now my local dealer had no issues on the mpe even it it was remapped as itís a design fault

Anyone else had issues? He was harping on about how he feels hard done by but I just said look the car was tip top when you took it so nowt I can do, in fact the only reason I did not send him the oem exhaust was because he knocked me down another £100 in the end

He never mentioned the turbos but I guarantee they are f00ked as well!!

Funny as they sent me some videos of them thrashing it on the way home from collection!

Why would they reject a claim on an exhaust back box because of a remap. Are they saying the map contributed to the crack?

If stage 2 then might blame the downpipes as not a 'oem' part connected to the MPE

Possibly but they would be hard to know if the down pipes were changed?

If it's up on a lift I assume it would be noticible if they're checking condition front to back. But as you've said it was because of the remap, which I assume the purchaser knew.

Engine remap is **** all to do with exhaust breaking.

Exactly why I’d never buy a modified car.

I think bmw are right to void anything engine/exhaust related on a tuned car.

If it was a sold as a stage 2 car the buyer should be aware of what he was getting into. Not your problem mate.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the MPE Usually just a new back box? Even if it isn’t a remap wouldn’t do anything to the structure of an exhaust.
