Haha no comment.
The launch control was brutal!
I just need to find someone who has a rs3 and wants to swap for a m3

Just reading through this thread, I dont understand earlier comparisons between the Golf R and the RS3. I've owned a mark 7 Golf R and surely it's direct rival is the S3 rather than the RS3?

From the reviews I read a few years ago the golf r was a better package and force better than the s3. Not sure how/why as it was pretty much the same car underneath.

The only rival on paper for the rs3 is the a45.

I agree mate and thatís the reason Iíll be sticking with it for some time. Iíll be interested to see what the new M3 will be like if itís AWD but at the moment thereís not much that could live with this performance under £200k.

Some acceleration figures:

0-100kmh 3.16sec
100-200kmh 7.53sec

Further testing will commence when I get my replacement Dragy gps unit back. Downpipes, Eibachs and Transmission dogbone insert on next week so should be knocking just over 500bhp then it needs a FMIC

I have read through this thread and it makes for interesting reading. Most of the conversation seems to be on out and out acceleration; if that is something that is important to you then sure it works. But I've had a fair few Audi's and as much as they pull me in and i buy them i also sell them after 6 months. Driven the newer Ss and RSs and yes they are stupid quick, stupid gripy in poor weather but they don't do it for me.

They never make you feel special and never seem/feel fun to drive. Of course that's my personal opinion and everyone is different; what people deem as fun is different too.

Its nice to experience different things.

Not sure how my post warrants you directly insulting my car you cheeky **** but ill answer your question anyway.

Its a very very good Car, a very capable car and it suits my needs very well. Brilliant GT car and it's fairly swift enough being 0-62 in 5.2 seconds out the box but it just doesn't feel special or engaging to drive. Its blood quick and it's quick round corners too but as i said before it doesn't mean it's fun. So it's time for a change. As i said Audi's pull me in, i like the looks of them and how they are so capable but after 6 months or so i really start to lose love for them and that includes the S and RSs too. Like i said everyone likes different things, for example some like the squashed aardvark front end of a rs5, some don't.

In saying all that I've not driven the newer RS models such as the new RS3 saloon or the new RS5 you have. They certainly seem to get much better reviews. Coupes are not really my thing but the RS5 sportback did peak my interest.
