I rang them too - and fair play to them, they did start by asking me if i was sitting down before they delivered the quote which was nice of them

As far as I'm concerened, their quotes are as competitive as Usain Bolt running in the Paralympics!

I wouldn't bother using AF

I rang them and they gave me a decent quote of 1200 but I laughed at them when they saif 4000 excess

Unfortunately insurance is a big scam and theres no easy way around them.
even when people have big accidents they dont go through insurance as it works out cheaper to fix the car themselves

Dan: Just spoke to a guy called 'Graham' who quoted 770...way above the quote from Swiftsure for same details (463). So AF not very competitive I'm afraid. Only criticism though about AF is that Graham spoke far too quickly and was very very rushed throughout. I didn't really understand 80% of what he was offering!

Better luck next time....

Strange the guy that sorted me out was called tom and bent himself over backwards to get me a better deal as he could.... he rung me back several times and even spoke to his manager to get me a further discount .

I've been with AF for 16 years until last month when I got the M3. Previously they had always managed to give me the best deal.

Unfortunately they wanted nearly a grand to insure the M3. The girl on the phone said that they were struggling to be competitive with M3's at the moment.

After some hunting I went with Tescos for 470.

700 odd with adrian flux, 503 with tescos, that includes the wife, sat nav/tv cover etc, courtesy car. dont think tescos can be beaten at the mo.

After reading this thread, I decided to give them a call, mentioned the Cutters discount etc. Please, bear in mind I have been driving for 28 years and have never crashed a car, no points at present etc. I also mentioned I drive an Alfa and the car will be locked up in a secure underground car park in Hitchin 95% of the time.

The quote 1000 !!! because it's my first year in an M3 and they are one of the top three cars most likely to be smashed according to actuarial assessment.

A good friend insures his DB9 for 500 fully comp, so I will try his broker instead.

I pay 346 for the Alfa fully comp

Cheapest M3 quote online so far 650 still seems too high !

Rather disappointed...

I had a policy with Flux for my M3 but when I changed my car to a 130i, Flux couldn't move the 130i to the same policy as it wasn't modified. Had to cancel the policy and start again with another broker as Flux wanted 250 more for the 130i than the M3. They quoted me over 1000 for the 130!
The real kick in the balls was the amount of policy refund though. I'd paid in full (750) and had 6 months remaining on the policy, got back 180. Was told I was lucky to get that as I was really only entitled to get something like 37 back due to early cancellation - girl was quite rude too.
